Zeke and I were walking hand in hand through the woods that belonged to the neighbors. Well, soon to belong to the pack once the paperwork was completed.
The land had belonged to an older couple that recently decided to retire from farming. The sad truth is that the lifestyle that once helped build this country is now nothing more than memories. As farmers age, their children don't want to have anything to do with the labor involved, and large industrial-style farming becomes the new norm. Over the years, if the land connects to the pack lands, Seth and his family make offers to these farmers before they list the property publicly. It usually works out, as they don't want to see their land get developed any more than we do.
