Getting Married

Wait what?

Lucian wanted to be sure he heard his sister right.

“What did you say?” He asked again to be sure.

“I am getting married to the son of the Alpha. I am getting married to Andrew” Lily sighed as she continued to check for the perfect outfit to wear.

“Wow, congratulations! I am very happy for you!" A smile formed on Lucian's face although he had mixed feelings about it.

“But I am not happy” Lily threw her cloth to the floor.

“Why? Is there a problem? You do not want to leave home?”

“I do not love him” She answered as she turned so he would not see the tears threatening to fall from her eyes but it was too late. He already saw it.

He immediately felt pity for her. They were just pawns and toys for their father. He could play them as he wanted to yet no one was there to help them.

If only their mother could stand up to fight for them but she needed help as well.

“I wish I could do something to help” Lucian embraced her as tears began to fell from his eyes too.

“Come on” Lily was quick to wipe off the tears from her eyes and tried to comport herself.

She wiped off the tears from his eyes too. “It is fine” She gave a comforting smile.

“I am really going to miss you” He frowned and sat back on the rough bed.

“I will miss you too but it is not like I am going to be murdered” She smiled, trying to make light of the situation. “So tell me, what was it you wanted to tell me?”

“Well…” Lucian adjusted himself on the chair and smiled. “I met a female wolf today”

“And?” Lily shrugged as she wondered what was new about that as meeting female wolves was nothing spectacular.

“Is there anything new about meeting a female wolf?”

“About the one I met today, there is absolutely something unique about her. She is a young white wolf with…”

“Did you just say white wolf?” Lily turned in surprise.

“Yes” He gave a satisfying smile.

“White wolves means good luck and positivity. So she ran off when she saw you?”

“At first, she wanted to. It is saddening that she had no one to call a family. She does not have a roof over her head like we do. She does not have a mother and father like we do.

She does not have a sister or brother like us. She does not have a friend. She is all alone by herself” He sighed. “I really feel pity for her”

“Even if I do not know her, I feel pity for her too” Lily continued checking for the best cloth for the meeting. “I guess this is good” She nodded in satisfaction as she picked a beautiful flowery gown.

“Rally?” Lily began to return the clothes into the basket.

“Yes. I also wished to stay with her for a long time but I did not want anyone to be worried” He paused and suddenly his eyes gleamed with brightness.

Lucian looked to be sure no one was watching them before standing and moving very close to his sister.

“Can I bring her in?”

“What!” Her eyes widened in shock.

“Shh” He quickly covered her mouth as her eyes widened in shock. He removed his hands slowly from her mouth.

“No, you can’t” She made a stern face.

“Please..”

“No. where would you keep her? What if mother finds out or the worst of all, if father finds out?”

“They do not have to know. You can help me if you want to” He pleaded.

“I can’t help you” she pushed the basket under the bed and stood up, walking to the mirror.

“She is helpless, Lily. What if a lion attacks her? What if something happens to her? She is a wolf like us”

“She was fine before she met you and will continue to be fine.

I heard they have some sort of power and are different from other wolves and......"

“You know, she never wanted me to leave. She trusted me so much and wanted me to be her friend” Lucian immediately cut in.

“You cannot bring her into this house. You do not know who she is or the type of power she possesses” She turned her back to him, standing her ground.

“I believe she is very good. Please, I just want her to be happy and I also want to be happy that I can help someone” He was obstinate and determined to get her help.

Lily turned to watch him for a while and then turned her back again against him. She sighed and shook her head.

“What if mother or father gets to find out?” Worry settled on Lily’s face.

“Mother will understand” Lucian walked to her side and held her hand. “Please, help me. Help her. Help us”

Lily looked at him again and sighed.

“Okay”

“Okay? Meaning you would help me?” His eyes became brighter with hope.

“It is quite risky but I would help…”

“Thank you sis” He embraced her with a smile on his face. She smiled as she embraced him too, rubbing his head.

Just then, the door flung open. Lily and Lucian turned to see who it was. It was their mother.

“Mama” Lucian disentangled himself from his sister and ran to embrace his mother. She smiled as she rubbed his head, happy he was calm already.

“Mother” Lily looked at her mother in surprise, wondering why she had come to her room at that time. It was quite unusual.

“Mama, why is Lily getting married to someone she does not love? Is there anything you can do to save her?” Lucian looked up at his mother.

She looked fed up of the whole situation as she sighed in despair.

“Well..” She loosened Lucian’s hand from her waist and walked closer to Lily, sitting on her bed. Lucian walked back to her and sat by her side.

“In life, we do not always get what we want. “ She looked at Lily.

Lily on the other hand was not prepared for the conversation so she began to clean up her room instead.

“Lily, you have always wanted to help this family as the first child. You have always wanted us to be happy, see this as a chance to do so.

Make this sacrifice for us all. You will be happy, I will be happy, your father will be happy, Seven will be happy, Eliana will be happy even Lucian here will be happy.”

Their mother tried to explain.

“Does she have to be the sacrificial lamb for this family? Does she have to give up her own happiness because of the family’s?” Lucian questioned.

Lily stood still and watched her mother and brother argue over her. She folded her arms as they both stared at her.

“It is not just for the family, Lucian. It is for her too. If she wants it or not, your Father has fixed the alliance. If she decides to accept it and embrace it, it would be easier for her. When she gets married, she would become the next Luna”

“But mother…”

“Enough!” Anna stood up as she silenced her son. “I have heard enough. There is nothing I can do to stop this union. Even if there is, I won’t because I want the best for her” She turned to Lily. “Meet me downstairs and join me to prepare dinner so when the Alpha’s son comes, we would be able to serve him”

“Yes, mother” Lily answered as she watched her mother walk out of the room.

As soon as her mother walked out of the room, she broke down in tears. Lucian was quick to pick her up.

Although he was just a child, he already knew what pain was. He embraced her and constantly reminded her all was going to be well.

“Lily!” Anna called out

“I have to go meet Mother and help her out with the cooking” Lily placed a kiss on Lucian’s forehead and hurriedly went to the kitchen.

Lucian sighed as she walked out of his sister’s room and headed to his room.

“Useless. I need to look for a way to sell you off” Lucian's father spat as he sighted him.

Save for his voice and his statement, Lucian would not have known his father as in the living room as he was deep in thought.

All he thought of was how to save his sister from the dilemma she was in and also figuring out a way to bring the young wolf into their house no matter what it takes.

Lucian bowed his head and hurriedly walked fast past his father as he headed to the room.

“Where were you?” Seven questioned as soon as he sighted Lucian. He was reading a novel.

“Well, I was not at home” Lucian could not get the suitable answer to give him because aside Lily whom they were quite close, he wasn’t willing to tell anyone about Jazlyn.

“Of course, I know you were not home. Where did you go?”

“I went into the forest” He sat on the only bed which he shared with Seven.

“Listen brother, I know father can be quite cruel to you sometimes and might be mean with his words but he loves you” Seven tried to explain.

“Love, you say?” Lucian raised his brows and smirked.

“You might not know or see it now but he loves you so much, just like he loves every one of us. For now, my two cents for you is for you to grow a tough skin to his spiteful words because he does not mean them”

“Thank you” Lucian stood up and walked out of the room.

Seven shook his head as he realized his brother was neither happy nor satisfied about what he had just said but it was the truth.

Lucian was about leaving when he decided to peep at Eliana at least to know what she was doing at that moment. As usual, she was doing her horrendous make up.

It was obvious that she was their Father’s favorite as she got to do whatever she wanted with their father never finding fault in her actions.

He turned quickly, away from her room.

He knew he had to figure out a way to save Jazlyn from the forest so he headed out to meet his friend whom could be of help.

Finally, evening arrived. The moment they have all being waiting for.

Anna ensured Lily had a nice bath and rubbed oil on her head and body so she smell nice.

She was looking so adorable as she sat in the living room, waiting for the prince. Her hair was packed in a perfect bun and her make up was minimal but wonderful, enhancing her beauty the more.

For reasons best known to her, Lily did not look up. She continued to stare at the floor like answers or help was there.

“The heir would be here anytime soon. I want you to comport yourself. Remember, he Is the son of the Alpha of our pack.

If you refuse his proposal, he can order us to be thrown out. You’ve always being an amazing young wolf and have always supported this family, do not let us down today”

“I understand” She bowed her head, still not looking up.

“He loves you so much and he is ready to do anything to make you his Luna.

Not every female wolf have such opportunity so it is a privilege for us and a blessing to us that you are chosen of the numerous ones.

I am pleading with you, do not embarrass us or drag our names in the mud”

“Yes father” She answered, still not raising her head.

Just then, the one whom they have been waiting for, the son of the Alpha arrived. Lily gasped in shock at his sight.
