I took a deep breath trying to calm my emotions which were all over the place.
Turning around slowly, I managed a smile, one that he didn't get to see because of the mask that covered my face. How dare he shamelessly say I ran away from him when we both know what he did to me?
“Hello to you too, Alpha Noah. What? Did you forget your manners at the party?” I mocked him. I was still an alpha and that title deserved some respect, no matter the bitter past we shared.
“ I've never had any manners.” Noah replied. He was right, someone like him rubbed me off mannerless. It's a good thing he knew that about himself.
“What do you want? I wonder if your mate knows that you are here following behind another woman?” I snickered, not bothering to hide the disdain in my words.
He didn't seem bothered by my words. On the contrary, he just gave me a smile, one that would have tipped me down there if it was in the past. It was the kind of smile I longed for but managed to get disdainful glares from him.
Too bad for him, I graduated from being the stupid Valeria who would grovel under his feet just to get his attention.
Noah took a step towards me, a sly grin gracing his lips making me wonder what he was up to.
“ I missed you Valeria,” He murmured when he stood before me, his hands outstretched to touch my face.
I took a step back to avoid his touch, a glare fixed on my face.
“What do you think you are doing? Don't you still want your fingers intact because I swear if you lay your filthy hands on me, I'll chop them off. ” I threatened him with clenched teeth. I meant it. His touch disgusted me, just like his cruel heart did.
The nerve of the guy touching me after all the pain he caused me? Did he really think I'll allow him to, much less enjoy his touch?
But I can't deny that moment of excitement my wolf felt when his hand almost touched me.
Fucking stupid mating bond.
I swear I saw a flicker of sadness flash through his eyes before it disappeared like it never existed.
“ Don't give threats you can't deliver.” Noah said in sheer mockery but the look I gave him told him I was not joking.
“I know you want me to touch you Valeria.Isn't that what you've always wanted? For me to touch and possess you?” Noah asked with a smile that screamed pride.
Looking at him acting all haughty like he was so important only made me feel disgusted.
“ Don't be so full of yourself Noah. Touch me? Do you think I'm lacking in men to touch me?” I snorted. If I wanted, I could have countless men eating at the palm of my hand.
The next thing I knew, Noah pushed me against the wall, his hot breath fanning my neck sending tickling sensations throughout my body.
His hands snaked around my waist and I had to stop the moan that threatened to tear through my lips.
My wolf purred in delight.
Stupid horny wolf, I cursed inwardly.
“ Don't deny what you feel for me Valeria.You know that this feeling is mutual. You want and crave for my body just like I crave yours. Don't struggle, let me fulfil your fantasies.” Noah murmured into my ears.
Ignoring the growing wetness between my legs, I pushed him away before my palm connected with his cheek.
Noah seemed taken aback by my actions before he glared at me.
I could feel Venus, my wolf, protesting inside my head but I shoved her back.
I knew that to deal with Noah,the last thing I needed was her interference.
“ How dare you slap me?” Noah growled, his eyes turning a shade darker showing that his wolf was taking over.
I stood my ground and glared at him.
“A slap isn't what you get the next time you try that s**t with me.” I replied, letting him know that using his alpha Aura had zero effect on me.
“ What's happening here?” A voice sounded from behind Noah. I didn't need to look her way to know that it was the woman he chose over me.
“ I have been looking everywhere for you. I didn't know you were here chatting with her.” She added. Although her words sounded innocent, I did not miss the hatred in her voice.
Considering it's her who stole my man, wasn't I the one supposed to hate her?
“ Put a leash on your mate. It's shameful to have him hit on other women.” Casting one last disdainful look on Noah, I walked away.
Lucas pov
Watching that man harass her made my blood boil with rage.
I was about to walk to him and beat the s**t out of him but I stopped myself when I spotted his mate walking to them.
Valeria walked away a moment later with an expressionless face.
I could see the other woman glare at her but after she met my eyes, she looked away.
Just as Valerial was about to walk past me, I decided to make my presence known.
Soon enough, she was going to be mine.
“That was impressive.” I commented, successfully capturing her attention.
“ Excuse me?” Goddess, her voice sounded so sweet to my ears. I bet I can get hard just listening to her talk. The sweet scent of Jasmine mixed with lemons wafted into my nose and my beast purred in delight.
“ I'm impressed how you handled the situation.” I repeated and she offered me a smile, one that had my heart almost stop beating. She was going to be the death of me.
“Thankyou I guess.” She replied awkwardly. I could tell she was no social butterfly, just my kind of woman.
“ I'm Lucas,your mate and future husband.” I shamelessly introduced myself, making my intentions towards her known.
