The next night, Drake and Derrek went to the place where he saw the girl. Their band will be playing next week so they are still free to go sightseeing of the island. "Bro, it looks like she's not coming," Drake said, eyeing his watch. "Look what time is it." "Can we wait a little longer, bro? His nanny said she's always here every night. Maybe she's sleeping in the other coconut tree," he pleads while eyes are as if searching from the dark. "What? Other coconut tree?!" Drake became even more nervous for his friend. He had only intended to comfort Derrek because he might get him to stop thinking of his ex-girlfriend again if he proved that it is all just made up, but it seemed like he had made a wrong decision. "Isn't this too much, bro? Come on! Let's go home," Drake said worriedly. Whatever was happening to his friend right now, he wanted to comfort him, but not in this way. "Please, just a minute," Derrek begged him. They were waiting behind a coconut tree. "Derrek, when are you going to accept that there's no-" Drake was stunned because it seemed like there was a commotion happening near where they were standing because people had gathered and were shouting. "Bro, it looks like someone is fighting, can we just go home now?" Drake took his step away. It was only his second night there, so he didn't want to get involved in any trouble. However, he immediately returned when he felt that Derrek didn't follow him. When he look for him, he couldn't find his friend. "Hell no! This is really a baaad idea," he uttered thinking where his friend might left. He went to the still gathered people and there he found his friend who was about to be punched by a foreigner. He quickly grabbed the foreigner's hand and placed it behind his back. "What's wrong with you?" the foreign man asked him while struggling. "He's my friend man and I don't like him seeing being beaten by an assh*le like you," Drake replied. The man tried to move his hand but it was too tight. "Let me go you filthy rat! Your friend just stole my girl, how would you think I will react?" he asked furiosly. Stole and girl? Drake move his eyes to Derrek and saw that he was protecting a woman. That's why the man is furious. He then understand the situation and let go of the foreigner's hand. He eventually apologized to him. "Stupid!" the foreigner said before he finally left. The people who had been surrounding them had also left. "Bro, what do you think you're doing? Are you really that desperate?!" he asked him angrily. Yes, sometimes he was playful with women but stealing someone else's girlfriend was unacceptable to him. "Drake I'm sorry but I can't help it. Look she's Sam," he said in a convincing tone. Drake was surprised by what his friend announced but he was even more surprised when he stared at the woman. "What the! This is unbelievable," he muttered as his eyes widened. "S-samantha?" Before anyone could speak. "Derrek. Is it you?" A woman happily uttered. "You saved Sab again. Thank you very much. I really don't know what to do with her anymore." Her eyes began to gloom. Both of their brows' furrowed. The woman told the story of the first time she and Derrek met. Drake saw the loneliness in his friend's eyes after knowing the truth. "Manang, is her name really S-sab?" Drake assured. He wants to confirm everything. He still can't believe that they found Samantha's lookalike. "Y-yes. Why, hijo?" The woman asked. "None, manang. I thought it's someone else. Someone we know. Anyway, why is she drunk and alone?" Drake inquired. "Oh! Long story, hijo. Wait, I'll take her now because Jason is here." Derrek immediately handed Sab over. Then Jason picked her up. "Well, we're leaving. Thank you very much, hijo," the woman said goodbye. They were about to leave when Derrek suddenly remembered the bracelet he had picked up the last time of their encounter. "I think this is hers." He handed her the bracelet. The woman thanked and left them behind. "It wasn't her bro," Drake finally breaking the silence as they were heading home. "Are you really okay?" "Yeah. At least I've got to prove to you that I'm not imagining things or creating stories. I admit, maybe I haven't completely moved on yet. But I'm trying. Though sometimes it still hurt. I'm doing everything I can to put things back as it is. So I hope you give me another chance to prove to the group that I can perform." Drake can feel the sincerity of his friend. "I'm sorry, bro. I also doubted you at first but I promise from now on I'll listen to your side. I'm really sorry, bro." "That's alrightt. Besides, I understand you---and so does Levi.I know all he wants is for the success of the group so I can't blame him neither." Drake nodded. "About that Sab, she really look like her. Do you think she was somehow related to Samantha?" "Honestly, I don't have any slightest idea." "But have you felt any familiarity while she's with you? What's your plan? Will you ask her?" "I still don't know Drake. I came here for work. Maybe that's what I'll focus on for now. By the way, thank you for saving me earlier." He tap Derrek by his shoulder. "What are friends for if I just left you to that foreigner? Besides, we're in our country we shouldn't be swayed by those foreigners." Derrek just laughed at his friend's cheerfulness. --- "That's it! I smashed his face and the guy immediately dropped himself into the ground." Other members are seriously staring at Drake who has been exxagerating his story of their encounter with the foreign man. Everybody know that it is all made up, they just go with flow of his crazy ideas. "Is that true?" It's Ian. "Of course not," Drake replied and laughed. They all grinned. "You're so arrogant!" Red said and threw the small sofa cushion at Drake. "So, how's your walk?" Levi asked seriously to Drake. "We saw her. She really looks like Sam. Unfortunately, she only really looks like her because her name is Sab. At first I really thought it was her, if only she wasn't drunk. I've never seen her drunk before so that's when I realized the difference between them two," he explained to them. "I'm going to rest for now," Derrek said goodbye. He stood up and entered the room. No matter how much he tried to hide his feelings, every time Sam's name was mentioned, he was still hit with a pang of homesickness. He didn't want to hear her name so he could completely move on. He lay down on the bed alone while staring at the ceiling. "I'm sorry," Levi apologized as he sat on the edge of Derrek's bed where he is. He glanced at the man. "For what? I know what you think, Lev. If I were in your situation, I might have reacted the same way. Who would believe that I saw her when she's been gone for so long," Derrek said sadly. Levi could feel what his friend was going through. "I'm so focused on the good of the group that sometimes I forget that besides being the manager, I'm also your friend. I should have listened first. I hope you don't hate me for that." Derrek sat back on the bed. "I said it's okay, man. I know why you're acting like this. It's because of me. We lost gigs and it's my fault. But, now I promise I'll do everything I can to make our band rise again here. Just trust me, Lev." Levi smiled at him. "Thank you, Derrek. Thanks that you understand where I'm coming from. You know what? We still have hopes here. We can be permanent and- I also hope you can move on here. Make this island your escape of the past. If only you know how we miss the naughty Derrek." A smile formed on Derrek's lips. He also missed his self before. When he and Samantha were still together. He is full of life. Suddenly everything changed when she left him. But Lev is right. The band has hopes and so is he. He can make a new beginning through making things right. He will start again.
