The screeching Gail woke them up early in the morning just like the previous day and the day before that. But they had no say in this matter and could only growl as they left bed to go for the training. After the training they attended classes as usual. It was now already the end of the last lesson. Students frequented the halls as they made their way back to their hostels exhausted. Trevor walked with Isaac and Tony when they noticed Jastrick and his companions. "Stop." Isaac said raising his hand to halt Trevor and Isaac. "What?" Tony asked. "Look over there. Jastrick." "Oh now we're in for trouble this time." Tony felt nervous when he saw that Jastrick had already noticed them. "Relax... He won't do anything." having said that Trevor stepped forward ignoring them. "No. Wai...." Issac tried to halt Trevor but he wouldn't listen, "And his gone." he sighed in frustration throwing back his head lazily. "Tony don't say I didn't try to stop him okay. You just saw it for your self he is just too stubborn. I knew one day this stubbornness would bring about his downfall. I didn't know it would be so soon." Issac complained relentlessly. "Stop what ever your saying. Look they did nothing to him." Tony pointed. At this point Trevor had turned back to check whether the boys had followed him but no; "Why are you standing there? Come on let's go." The boys hesitantly approached Trevor as they feared Jastrick. But something unexpected happened. Not only had Jastrick done nothing to them, but they could also sense he was trying hard not to approach them as they passed. They had nearly forgotten to breathe. Only after they reached Trevor could they breathe again. "I don't know what happened to Jastrick but thank Godess Gaia it happened." Tony said relieved. Jastrick on the other hand, glared daggers at the backs of the the three boys. "I'll pay you back for humiliating me. You should be thankful my brothers in Ha6 haven't heard of what you did otherwise you would be dead by now." a memory of Trevor's upper shoulder played in his mind. Although Trevor was wearing a long sleeved shirt, Jastrick could make out the fact that Trevor did not have a tasabar. He had activated a spell that could enable him see tasabar even through clothes. It was considered a high level spell which he was proud to show off to his colleagues since no one at their level could perform it except him. "You have no tasabar! How are you able to perform magic. Or was it borrowed magic." A smirk curved up Jastrick's lips when he came to the conclusion. * After a brief rest in their rooms, the screeching filled their ears again. "Now what's the need for the assembly at this time." "This school is only getting weirder and weirder." "Damn. I don't want to go outside right now." As the students complained among themselves, the majestic voice of the Wizard Dira filled their ears. No matter where the students were, the wizard's voice reached them. "Everyone to the training ground now! Training plan has been adjusted. From now on you'll be participating in both morning and evening routines. Refusal is not an option." "Crap!" "Why does this have to happen?" "I thought our parents would make it right. Instead they made it worse." "Curse this school!" Curses filled the atmosphere here and there as the students expressed their discontent. "F*** this school. I am not going for no damn training." "Yeah your right." A minute after the announcement, nobody moved a step except the slaves who where utterly helpless. "If you think your not cut out for it. The school gates are wide open. Your choice. We are extremely sorry for the inconvenience of not informing you about the new changes. As you well know the tournaments will be held soon. And physical combat is a basic requirement. There is no school Tenkai that and the whole of the Northern continent that isn't doing this. If you win the tournament, each person that participated will be rewarded with 500 Gold. And the best performers will be made known in the whole of the North continent. Everything you ever desired will be yours. Plus you can get a chance to join the guild's council or even better, a role as a government official. This tournament could set your future in stone. With wealth and fame engraved on it. The grand prize of this tournament will be the emperor's nomination to a high position. " At the mention of these words, everyone gaped in shock. This tournament ought to be special for it to gunner such rewards. To current students here, 1 gold was more than enough money but 500 gold? They would live the rest of their lives in luxury if they possessed that much money. Everyone drooled at the rewards mentioned. Although they had their doubts and believed it was too good to be true why would the wizard Dira lie. "If you wish to lack out on such a chance, feel free to leave. And if you're determined to obtain these for yourself, do your best. The best will be chosen to participate in the tournament. This is a one time event. And it won't be easy. You will be facing off against all the schools in the northern continent. Now, if you wish to attain this go on to the training ground and try your best. And most importantly, try not to fall behind. If you do we're sorry, we'll have no choice but to eliminate you. " Having said those words, the wizard fell back in his chair as he stroke his white beard with a smile. " Thus are the law of human nature. Show them something they desire, they'll try hard to obtain it no matter what. "he said as he saw, through the giant window, the crowd of students proceed to the training ground enthusiastically. After 3 hours or so, they concluded with the training and headed back to their rooms completely exhausted. With some who even fainted during the exercise. But unluckily they showed no mercy and told them that they would have to add today's remainder to that of tomorrow. "Sister Page.... I don't like it." said Rose rubbing her sore muscles with tears probing to come out. "Just hang in there. It will be over soon." Page who was also in a bad mood comforted. "I wish I never said I liked it here." she cried. Trevor was coping quite well than the other students although it was still difficult at some point. If not for the fact he underwent some training in his previous dungeon,he would have long since died of exhaustion. Trevor went and took a bath right after that. Although his muscles where sore, he forced himself to the library and continued with his research. He had to find out a way to get a tasabar cause his lessons in school were practically useless without one. He couldn't even cultivate the mana around. Forget cultivating, he couldn't even see or sense the mana. Further increasing his knowledge, he now knew that in every rank they would measure how powerful a person was in their respective category by subranks and classes. For example, at the very bottom of each rank, there was the Ordinary Subrank, followed by the Knight Subrank, then the Bishop Subrank, then the General Subrank. After surpassing the said Subranks, a person could break through into the next rank. Though, the same principle does not apply to the Silver and gold rank where one would have to break through the King Subrank in order to enter the next rank. The Subranks also had requirements for breakthrough categorized into classes ranging from 1st to 7th. One had to acquire the 7th class in order to break through into the next Subrank. With each breakthrough, the class count would reset to 1st class. Although 7 looked like a small number, the difficulty of acquiring classes in each Subrank varied. Acquiring classes in the ordinary Subrank was easier than acquiring classes in the knight Subrank. The difficulty went on with a higher Subrank. That way more effort was needed. The difference in strength of the different ranks was obvious. An ordinary Subrank of the iron rank was way more powerful and could cultivate more mana than an ordinary Subrank of the stone rank.
