Chapter 26
Melina was lost in thought when her phone chimed with a new message. She picked it up and saw that it was from Adrian, just a wall away. The message read: "Come over, I don't feel well." Hmph, he's definitely playing some kind of trick. No way I’m going over there, she thought, turning off her phone and trying to sleep. Melina woke up very early the next day, even before her parents. She needed to get Adrian out of the house as soon as possible. Quietly, she tiptoed to her bedroom door and knocked. There was no response. Is he still asleep? she wondered. No, she had to wake him up and get him out of the house before her parents woke up and her mom started asking questions. Lying to her mom was not her forte; she’d get caught in no time.
