Unexpected mates

Storm' Point of view We were all getting ready together. This party was going to awesome; I just knew it. The girls had a knack for the details, and us guys had made sure that the drinks, food and DJ all were top notch. We talked, laughed and had a good time, just us guys. My mind was running so fast tonight, the girl I had had a crush on for as long as I can remember will be coming of age tonight, and I was sure she would look so stunning in her costume. Jayden knew I was crushing on his sister, but I had never made a move out of respect for our friendship. Tonight, I would most certainly watch Jordyn find her soulmate, and it would crush me. She was perfect, spunky and the most beautiful girl in the world. I knew I would move heaven and earth for her, just to see her radiant smile. "Storm, are you listening, or daydreaming again?" I was pulled out of my thoughts by the voice of Max. "Yeah yeah, I'm listening. What were you saying again?" Max rolled his eyes, and Jayden laughed. "I was asking if you had arranged the birthday cake for Jordyn, like you promised." I smiled, "yes, it will be presented at midnight on the dot. After we all sing for her." The guys noticed the smug look on my face, "you do know, that my sister probably will find her mate tonight, right?" Jayden asked, concern on his face. I shrugged. "Yeah, and?" He didn't by it, "and you will have to stop obsessing over her dude." I sighed. I knew they were right, but I just needed midnight to come, and maybe the miracle I was hoping for would come. I shook my head as to clear it, "I know man. It is not that easy, but I only want her happiness." The guys nodded, and Jayden gave my shoulder a tug. "Come on, let’s get this party on the road."  The party was splendid. Everyone was laughing and having a good time. People kept ringing the doorbell and getting candy, children in all age groups and costumes was having a blast with our decorations outside. I kept my distance to Jordyn, when all I wanted to have her secure in my arms. A specific guy kept touching her, asking her to dance with him and standing really near to her. I wanted to rip his read of for touching my woman, but I couldn't act. Jordyn didn't belong to me, and she was free to do what she wanted. But that guy was going away, and soon. He was getting on my very last nerve. Jordyn on the other hand was just a vision to behold in her fairy costume. She was magnificent, and I really couldn't fault jerk face for being in awe of her. Her eye kept lighting up every time she smiled, and her seemed to enjoy herself. That's all that matter, I kept telling myself. Suddenly I got a mind-link from Jayden and was needed to go to get Sami to cool down. This was going to a long night.  Jordyn' Point of view  Storm kept being in sight at the party. But he also kept his distance. I really just wanted to go to him and let him hold me. He had always felt like home to me, and place where I was safe from the world. All the time I was away at school. I dreaded to come home and find out he had found his mate. I wanted it to be me so badly, and every girl that approached him before, I wanted to rip their eyes out for just looking at him. "Jordyn?" Huh, my thoughts were interrupted by Simon. "Yes?" He smiled, "I was asking if you wanted to dance?" He kept touching me and asking for a dance every new song. "Uhm, no thanks Si. I'm not in dancing mood tonight." His smile faltered a bit at my rejection, but he kept standing right beside me. He was starting to irritate me, and I could see murder in Storms eyes which strangely made me happy. He had always been so protective of me and treated me like a princess. Which I was, but like I was HIS princess. I kept my eyes on him, even when engaging in conversation with my friends. He was never far, but yet to far for my liking. "So, Jordyn, what is it like to turn 16 in a couple of hours?" Shila, my friend from school asked. I smiled, "I really excited! I hope my mate is here tonight, but what's most important is that my family is here. I must say, it is still kind of weird to have all these guests and come midnight they will actually also be my birthday guests." Shila nodded. "Do you know who your mate might be?" She asked. "Well. I have a hope, but I am not going to embarrass myself and telling you." She giggled, but Simon didn't look all too happy with my statement. "If you got a hunch, you need to tell us." He said not convincing at all. I knew Simon had a crush on me, but I never led him on. I had always been honest with him and told him I wasn't interested. "No way, you will just have to wait and see." I said with a teasing smile. Midnight was close now, and I was starting to smell something really delicious. We kept talking about mates and stuff. I had wondered about Simon; he was a year older than me and had not found his mate yet. Did he think I was to be his? My stomach lurched at the thought, and I instinctively look for Storm, but he was nowhere to be seen? I excused myself to the group and went looking for him. Simon hot on my heel. "Where are you going sweets?" He asked, and I rolled my eyes. Instead of answering I went for my parents. "Mom, dad. Have you guys seen Jayden, Dana, Sami and Storm?" I included all of them, so no one would get suspicious. "Yes, they all went to Dana' office. They had something to sort out, but don't worry dove. They will be here before midnight! Your brother would not miss that for a second, and they others wouldn't either. I held in a sigh of relief. He was just doing his royal duty. "Okay, thank you." I gave them a smile, and my father laid an arm over my shoulder. "You, young people really did amazing with this party. I am very proud of all of you!" His words warmed me, and I gave him a sincere smile this time. I stayed with my parents, much to Simon' chagrin. He stayed as well, and engaged in small talk with my parents, but I honestly wished him away. Far, far away.  A few minutes to midnight everyone came into the ball room, and Jayden cleared his throat. He congratulated me, and everyone started singing Happy Birthday to me. It was a surreal feeling, and as midnight came, a huge, beautiful cake was wheeled in. As I went over to it, Simon snaked his arms around me and whispered "happy birthday little fairy. I have been waiting for this day a long time." Then he kissed my cheek. I felt sick but didn't have the chance to react before a growl rang out, and Simon was thrown from me. I was turned around and looking into the most beautiful eyes of. Storm?! "MINE" he bellowed, and my knees went weak.  Storm' Point of view As we came back to the party, I smelled something absolutely wonderful. She was here. My mate. I was sure of it. But why didn't I smell her before? Had she been late to our party? Jayden started his speech to Jordyn, and we all sang Happy Birthday. I would start looking when the cake had been cut, because I wanted this to be Jordyn moment. Even though my mate was here now, it was still her special day. The cake wheeled in, and Jordyn went for it. That t**t face from before had his arm around her, and started whispering in her ear, before kissing her cheek. Something felt completely off, and then I smelled her. Jordyn' scent was divine and beyond anything I had smelled before. A prefect mixture of roses and fresh rain. I saw her tense up, and everything in me reacted instinctively. I rushed forward growling and threw the other male of off her! I then turned her around and looked into her mesmerizing eyes! They already held so much tenderness and love, so I did the only thing I had wanted to all evening. "MINE!" I bellowed so all corners of the property could hear me. She smiles, f**k! That smile was my everything. I finally knew what Jayden had felt when he found Dana. I threw all caution to the wind and kissed my beautiful queen! That was what she was; me queen, my breath and my everything. I had hoped beyond hope for years, since I turned 16 myself, that Jordyn would be mine. That she would become my queen. As the years had gone by my fantasies and thoughts had begun surrounding her more and more. I was going stir crazy and had even stoop to the level of stalking her at the school. I had missed her so much while she was away, that sometimes I couldn't sleep in my own room. I had to sneak into Jordyn' and be surrounded by her smell. Today, tonight it all finally made sense. She had always been mine, and mine alone. My inner vampire purred at the thought. Someone cleared their throat, and I was met with Jayden' scowl. Uh oh.  Dana' Point of view  I was laughing inside. Jayden was so overprotective of the girls in his family. He just stood there, scowling. So, I did the only thing I could think of and smacked the back of his head. "Ow! Why did you do that baby girl?" He asked, while rubbing his head. "Because you are being a prick, and neither your sister or Storm, who happens to be my brother, deserves that." Jayden shot me a look, "I hate when you are right, do you know that?" I smiled and gave him a peck on the lips. "I know." Then I went to the newly found pair. "Congratulations you two! You deserve it so much. Oh, and don't worry about grumpy pants, he will come around." They both looked somewhat relieved about that. "Their parents on the other hand Storm. I'm not sure how they, especially Jordyn' dad are going to handle it." I said with a giggle, but he paled quite a bit. "Don't worry about my dad. One pout from me and he will cave like a gummy bear in the oven." Both Jordyn and I burst out laughing at the sight of both Jayden and Storms faces. They knew it was the truth. People were started to gather to congratulate the couple, when a young man suddenly ran forward and punched Storm in the face. What. The. Actual. f**k? I used my telekinesis and lifted the other man from the floor, and against the wall! I stalked over to him, "what the hell is your problem?" I asked in a deadly calm tone. "He is touching what is mine! Jordyn is mine. I rejected my mate to be with her, and no one is taking her away from me." He spat. Every male in proximity to him and I started growling. Storm put Jordyn behind him in protection, but I had him locked against the wall. Jayden came over, but one look from me was all it took for him to stand down. "I will say this one time, and one time only! You stay away from my sister-in-law, or so help me blood moon goddess I will rip you limp from limp! You threw away your greatest and most precious gift, so you can take someone else? This is not how thing here work. Jordyn has been claimed by her fated mate, and you will not lay a finger on either of them! DO I MAKE MYSELF CLEAR?" I roared the last part with my aura on full blaze. Everyone in the room, besides Jayden, was on their knees followed by a "YES MY QUEEN!" The young man was livid, but I would be dammed if someone hurt my family. "Guards, please escort Mr.?" "His name is Simon Walters, Dana." I looked behind me, and it was Jordyn who answered my question clinging to Storm. "Please escort Mr. Walters out! His photo is to be handed around, so everyone here is familiar to his face. I will personally be visiting his family and make sure repercussions will be made." The guards came forward and I relented my hold on Simon. He was yelling and swearing all the way out, but my attention was on Jordyn. "Are you okay?" I asked her. She started sobbing, and Storm wrapped her in his arms. "He is not going to hurt you lovey. I promise to protect you with my life if necessary." Storm kept whispering to Jordyn, until she calmed down. "He, he, he. He whispered in my ear, before Storm threw him of me. He said he had been waiting for this day, and then kissed my cheek. I got all sorts of creepy feelings from him and have been trying to ditch him all evening." Storm looked like he wanted to go after Simon and kill him on the spot, but he knew his mate needed him.  When all the guests had said their congratulations and told us how they would all help protect Jordyn and put a distance from Simon' actions, we all sat on the patio. The evening had been mostly a success, and we were all proud of the outcome. Jayden had come around, as I knew he would and was right now in protective mode - but for an outside source. "We need to get more guards, make sure our close neighbors know about Simon and his scheme. We need to make it public knowledge that you two are fated, and he is the one trying to steal another' mate. We need to stay on top of this, and Jordyn you are not." I interrupted him. "Babe. Take a deep breath! No one is going to hurt Jordyn, and we will all protect her. She is mated to Storm, who is a protective and possessive as you are. So, my conclusion is this; we make all the arrangements stated by Jayden and then wait and see. He will make move, maybe. But none of us is putting our lives in hold. Just like I am not, even though someone tried to kidnap me." Jayden tensed up, and I sat in his lap. "We need to live, and Simon is long gone by now. We can intensify guards 'again' if that gives you some comfort. But we need to be normal. And besides, we have thanksgiving coming up, and we need to prepare that." Jayden sighed and nodded in defeat. Everyone else started laughing. "Look at you, taking charge and acting like a true queen." Sami said in between laughs. I send her a mischievous smile, "soon it will be you who," I didn't to finish before she threw a pillow in my face. "No, it will not. And you know it!" She stated. I shook my head at her and sat there talking a bit more before going to bed.  *** A few weeks has gone by, and nothing has happened. Simon vanished right after the party, and even his family hadn't seen or heard from him. They were horrified when they learned of his schemes, and then assured me they were not supporting these actions. We have been looking for him, but have come up empty, and with thanksgiving drawing near I was so focused on the preparations the search went to second in my mind. We were going to be having a big family dinner, but the day before we would go to different orphanages and treat the children and staff there. I was tradition for the royal family to do something of the sorts, but I insisted of us going in person and help for the day. Bringing gifts for the kids, serve food and help the staff all around for the day. We had made the arrangements and was going to three different places. Me, Jayden and his parents were going to Rose Garden Orphanage. Storm, Jordyn and his (our) parents would go to lavender heaven orphanage, and lastly Sami, Max and his parents would go to orchid field orphanage. We would stay there the entire day, and I was over the blood moon for it! This was going to be so fun and rewarding. If only I knew someone was in the middle of changing all our planes.
