the reveal
So that's what I am, a werewolf. That would explain a lot. After that strange man who claimed to be my father left, Cole said that he would call me later and also left. I opened my front door and my granny was sitting on it. The chair next to the door and I was sure that she heard everything. When it was dinner time, we sat down to eat and when I asked her why she kept this secret from me, she told me that her main priority was to keep me safe. Wonder what that means. Anyway, it's time for me to sleep because tomorrow Cole and I will go to college so I will be spending most of my time packing my stuff. And I will surely miss my granny but she promised to call every day.
We arrived at the campus two hours after we had left home and my grandmother insisted on coming along so we let her come with us. I know I saw the picture of the campus on their website but it did not do this place any justice. Now all that's left is locating our dorm room. When we opened our room, we saw that instead of two beds as I thought, there were three. The two of us got to setting up our spaces and we were almost done when we heard a knock at the door. I opened it because I am the closest to it. There at the door stood a boy about the same age as Cole and me. He stood about 5, 6 feet tall and had sandy brown hair. His eyes were a hazel brown he looked shy and out of place with his many boxes for a moment, he looked unsure of what to say but finally spoke introducing himself as Kyle and our other roommate. The two of us rushed out to help him with his boxes. One particular box was pretty heavy but I handled it with no problem. Within no time at all, we had all of Kyle's boxes inside the room. Feeling tired I decided to take a nap.
A lady was screaming at first then she sunk behind a couch. In her arms, she held a baby who was crying. The lady critically tries to soothe the baby but is unsuccessful for a moment until she finally manages to soothe the bundle of joy and he stops crying; she then proceeds to place him under the couch. The door opened and a creature on four legs walked. The sound of its growling resonated in my head and caused the lady to whimper silently " I love you Axel, and I always will." she quietly says to the baby right before a hand grabbed her and pulled her towards it making her scream loud. Then I heard a voice say" no one is coming to save you and you're going to die not even the Alpha can save you."
I woke with a start looking around frantically but my eyes landed on Kyle who informed me that Cole had gone to run an erand. " dude do you wNt to talk about it cause you kept mumbling something about an Alpha. Do you like werewolves too?" " no, I'm fine, don't worry about it man." I replied though his question caught me off guard but then I remembered that I sometimes talk in my sleep.
Cole returned somewhere around eighth but he looked like he'd just won the lottery. He had the Cheshire cat grin on his face the whole time and when I asked him about it, he revealed that he met a beautiful sweet girl who lived in the next building. " Oh man , you should have seen her, she's hot." I realised over the years that Cole's taste in women couldn't be trusted much like that one time in ninth grade when he told me that he liked a girl named Amanda. " may be you'll see her tomorrow." he added happily.
While my roommates were asleep, I went to the roof and sat up there. It is very peaceful up here, well, it was until I felt his presence and without down from the sky, I said to him" you do know that stalking is a crime, right?" " ah son, you wouldn't tell anyone right, besides you can't prove that I was here." he said confidently. " no, but I can beat you to a pulp and you said it yourself, I am the Alpha." I said coldly making him frown. " what's it going to take for you to forgive me, I already apologized forty times." he said looking solem " your gifts won't buy my affection and do you have any proof that I'm your son or do you just find random boys and claim to be their long lost father?" I replied making him want to pull out his hair. " tell you what?" he said suddenly looking anxious " I will train you to control your abilities during the full moon if you come and stay with me." I opened my mouth to object but he cut me off " just, think about it, okay?" and with those words, he leaped off the roof and transformed into a big grey wolf and disappeared into the night.
The following day, we went to a coffee shop for breakfast and as we were leaving, I received a phone call from my grandmother who sounded sick and I instantly begun to worry " Axel, how are you my dear?" she greeted me cheerfully but she sounded like she had the flu. " I'm fine Granny, how are you doing?" I tried and I could tell that she was thinking of what to tell me that wouldn't worry but nothing she could possibly day can ease my worry at all. I told my friends that I would meet them back at campus and started my walk towards home I simply had to check on her. When I was sure that nobody was watching, I broke into a full sprint and gradually ramped up my speed till I was moving so fast everything else seemed to be standing still. Soon I had reache1d her house and reached my hand out to open the door but stopped when I heard voices. " wait, kill me instead, his destiny is to be the Alpha you killed his mother seventeen years ago and now you want to cut his life short?" my grandmother asked sounding frustrated. " yes, that's because his family are traitors and she had to die because she was human and now, he must die as well because he is just a half wolf, he will never be the Alpha not until I die" the voice said coldly
