Chapter 15
The cab turned up bang on time. Jenna was already waiting for it and bundled into the back as soon as she’d confirmed it was for her. She asked where they were going and the driver told her it was a shuttle bay some fifteen minutes away.
Jenna settled into the seat, buckling herself in out of habit. The way Ugo had died when his fusion bomb went off had stuck with her. Anywhere that might move and where there were safety straps she damn well made use of them.
She didn’t look back as the cab pulled away. She’d only been in the lodgings a few days, it didn’t feel like home and she’d grabbed her few belongings and packed them before leaving. She’d paid three weeks rent in advance, after that the room would just revert to being let out again.
