Chapter 13
The journey to Basalius was almost uneventful, by recent standards at least. She only had to deal with four critical alerts and hammer at the generator twice.
She was back on the bridge now and getting ready to start slowing the ship. In theory she could wait until the Vision had covered half the remaining distance, and once she would have done exactly that, but that was back when the ship was new and she knew she could rely on it to do as she asked.
She slowly fed power to the engines, not wanting to risk overloading them. For the first two minutes everything went well, with only slight fluctuations in the output of the engines to worry about. Then there was a massive bang and the whole ship shook. Power to the engines dropped to zero and generator alerts started to flare.
