'I lost the necklace,I lost the goddamn necklace', Amanda said between sobs. She was robbed yet she felt like it was here fault. She didn't fight for it,instead when the guy demanded for it she gave him without hesitation. He was holding a gun, yes, but it was her father's most prized possession. It as worth a bullet. She should have fought for it till her last breath.
She never really got the hype about the necklace, she just grew to love it as much as her father. He had given it to her in her seventh birthday. He told her that she was the only one he loved more than it and that it was their little secret. When she asked why he loved it so much he had said that it was the key to happiness and once it was time, she would know. Well, here she was in the mansion her father left her, she did not know and she had lost the jewel.
But wait….the necklace was a locket that looked as ordinary as possible. How on earth did he know what was in it?
His moment of joy flashed before his eyes. Just moments ago he had done the scariest thing in the history of his life. He had done it because it was the sacrifice he had to make for his happiness. It had gone well, he was scared but at least there were no complications.
After that night he was the happiest man on earth. He had gone through the first step required to be rich and happy.
How mother had told him about the necklace being a key and opening a safe and making someone rich. She had said it as a story so many times until he got the hint that it was more than fiction. With the hint he had found the necklace though he was yet to find the safe.
But now, all his efforts lay fruitless, he stood with tears in his eyes…..the locket was empty.
