Chapter 5The air in the storage unit became heavy with static, and the summoning circle shifted to a brilliant green light before crackling arcs of energy leaped from the floor to the shadows, filling it with their power.
The body within the shadows was illuminated with a corona of green; it shone through the tendrils that still writhed in her ears, mouth, and crotch, what had been a passive, mindless expression turning to one of shock and pleasure as the barriers that had trapped her within her own soul were ripped apart.
The lightning rolled up and down her limbs, across her chest, around her head, and as it did the shadows grew smaller and leaner, the insubstantial tendrils seeming to absorb themselves into her body, carrying the power her former self had called up into her.
