Unexpected(2)

The moment Eli's scream resounded in the room Ariana went hysterical. She thrashed and screamed to get to Eli so much that the Evans couple had to hold her real tight.

When the glow died out she jumped from their arms and rushed to Eli. Clutching her arm she sobbed loud. Mr. Evans cleared his throat. Looking at his only daughter slumped on the floor lifeless was heartbreaking for him. They can only hope for everything to go on the right direction.

He moved to his daughter while speaking softly, "Arin, move. We need to get Eli to he... ARIANA..."

The screeching voice of Mr. Evans drowned in the sounds of rapid bone snappings followed by a growl. The adults in the room looked horrified at the small wolf pup in front who bared her teeth at them in warning.

" Ho...why did she.."... Mrs. Evans stuttered to form a full sentence.

Ivan looked closely at the pup. After a while he spoke with the softest voice he could master..

"Ariana, sweetheart... Eliena needs her rest, she's sleeping. And it's not good to sleep on cold floor. Let me help her."

The white wolf looked at him with her green eyes. She nudged Eli's limp arm with her nose who remained still. Whimpering softly she looked back at Ivan who extended his arms letting her sniff around. A minute later she stepped aside.

Ivan picked Eli up in arms then spoke to the pup, " Why don't you show me where to go?"

The pup wagged it's tail then ran upstairs.

Ivan looked back at the bed where he tucked Eli and the wolf before closing the door behind. Her wildflower smell distinct in the room soothed his disturbed mind. Climbing down the stairs he watched his mate laid on the couch. Creating the barrier took more energy than he thought needed.

He looked at Evans couple who looked visibly tensed by the turn of events. He tried to somehow appease their mind, "Ariana must love Eli too much to transform at this age.." .. may be his own mind too.

"Arin is always too close to her. She always needed the assurance of her presence nearby. We never understood why.."

"May be because she accepted Eli as her Alpha just like you..." Gregory mumbled. Everyone looked at him to which he raised a brow.

A moment later Mr. Evans nodded, "Right, we already took her as the leader of our family pack, we just never realised."

Gregory chuckled, "No, it's her who took you as her pack and liability, you never realised.."
