I don't know where to take her but I'm carrying her to the pack house. Dustin already mindlinked a doctor. But where do I take her? She's given up her bedroom. Dustin follows silently behind me. It's annoying how he's always where she is. I take her to my room. She's beautiful, lying there, even covered in sweat, dirt, and a little bit of blood. Dustin stands in the corner, arms folded, just looking at her sleeping form.
"What's your deal, gamma?" I walk closer to him. He just continues to look at her. "What is your deal with my mate?" I growl out. He looks at me.
"You have yet to accept her. Therefore, she is not fully your mate." He shrugs and goes back to looking at her. Right when I was about to say something else, in walked, the doctor followed the woman I saw Adalaina save earlier.
"Now, now boys, Laina won't be happy when she wakes up if you're at each other's throats. Play nice." The pregnant woman says.
The doctor looks her over and turns to us.
"Alpha, gamma, Ashlee. She will be fine. She just had a panic attack. I've given her something to help her sleep some more so she's well rested before our other guests arrive." And he walks out the door. Ashlee walks over and sits down on the bed beside her, I sit in the chair next to the bed, and Dustin moves to the couch close by.
"She saved my life." My head snaps up towards Dustin, who doesn't take his eyes off of her, but looks like he's deep in thought.
"What?" I ask.
"She saved my life. That's my deal. It was years ago. Before her father died. I was looking for my sister, her fated mate was killed, and the previous alpha kidnapped her and brought her here to be wed to one of his warriors. When my alpha did nothing, I took off in search of her. I became a rogue pretty much. One day, I was attacked by a group of six, I barely made it out alive, but I knew I wouldn't live much longer. There was too much blood. I stumbled through the forest until I came to a clearing. I could sense I wasn't alone, but I didn't care, I was dying. I laid there, looking towards the sky, waiting, when a girl entered my view. She was saying something, but I didn't hear a word. I closed my eyes, welcoming death, and after a few hours, I woke up. The girl was sitting next to me, she was covered in bruises and looked sad. She looked like she could die any second if she decided to give up, but she used her energy to save me. For months, I stayed close to the border of the pack. She snuck out every night and brought me food. Her father eventually found out, I didn't see her for days. Then, one day, I was sitting in the clearing, and a wolf ran through the trees. It got my feet and collapsed. With falling unconscious, she shifted back. It was Adalaina. What happened to her, caused her wolf to push forward two years early in self preservation. She wouldn't tell me what happened when she woke up, but she was in bad shape. I went with her to tell Forest Lake about her fathers plan to double cross them. So alpha, my deal, is that she saved my life. She's been through Hell, and I'll be damned before I left anything else harm her." He snapped his eyes up to mine. Every word he spoke was the truth.
"Thanks for outing my past." Ashlee said from the bed. Dustin turned to her and smiled.
"Anytime, little sis." He winked and smiled at her.
Before I could say anything else, my phone was ringing. I answered it, and Ken told me I needed to get home soon. My mother was apparently driving everyone insane. I told him I'd head home tomorrow after meeting whoever Adalaina had called for help.
