Dustin POV
I definitely needed today.
I caught up on assignments, went for a run and helped out with pack management of the rogue attack. They don't often happen, you have to be very desperate or determined to attack Opal Moon.
We have things in place though when they do happen, extra security around the border, assisting those that were effected from the attack, investigations. It was a lot but helped lower the chance of future attacks.
It also helped keep my mind off Ellie for the most part. It's her birthday in 2 days which means her wolf comes soon, I needed to regulate what's going on with me to celebrate her.
It was finally dinner time, I took my seat with Marlon and Dane. We went over anything important I missed at school.
I noticed the conversation in the room wasn't as obnoxious tonight. I looked around and noticed Riley was missing. Probably off messing around with some she wolf that doesn't have much in self esteem.
"How lucky is Riley? I've never heard her go on a date with anyone. She always had that off limit feel about her, especially with who she hangs out with" Benson, a boy that follows Riley around, could be heard saying on the table behind.
This peaked my interest as I listened. There was only a small handful of girls that I knew of that would avoid Riley like a disease.
Riley never dates a challenge where he would need to put effort in. Just goes for easy f***s and has zero respect for the poor girls afterwards. Soon they end up the change room joke with his dickhead mates.Hear it week in week out.
"Yeah Ellie is definitely one for the trophy room. Would be like taming a wild animal" another boy said impressed.
I felt a sharp, cold shiver run down my spine.
I turned to Dane and Marlon who looked at me with anger on their faces.
"Did he just say Ellie is on a date with Riley?" I could feel the fork bending in my hand as I tried to control myself.
"That's not true. Ellie is with Riley, yes, but only helping him with his assignment. We already questioned her about it and completely believe her version. We really shouldn't have even questioned her, we know she wouldn't be keen on Riley. You know that Dusty as well" Marlon assured me
"Yeah and I'm about to break the jaw of the next person who says otherwise." Dane said through gritted teeth.
"Ok" Is all I could get out.
I felt a black rage filling me. I wanted to find them and rip him into pieces if he so much as tried anything on her.
I sat the rest of dinner in silence. I could feel Marlon looking at me every so often. I struggled to eat much, all I could think about was Riley trying to touch Ellie. I was in a shell of my own fury.
"I'm going to go for another run. I missed training today so should go make up for it" I said as I stood up from the table.
"Do you want us to come with?" asked Marlon
"No, it's all good" I replied
