"The matron is a very cunning and ambitious she-wolf. She spent all her youth, trying to get the Alpha, Alpha Robert, Murphy's father. But he was never interested in her. Alpha Robert was interested in someone else. When the she-wolf he was interested in found her mate, I heard the Matron killed the mate, thinking it would make the Alpha like her, but it didn't work. Until the Alpha found his own, she also found hers and then she had Megan. Her plan was for Megan to become Luna to fulfill her selfish dreams, and she is ready to waste anyone that comes in the way of her plans." Anna narrated.

"Poor Megan, she's only a tool for her mother's selfishness., Sassy said.

"How do you know so much?" Delight asked.

"I lived with them for a while while I did hear their conversations. Megan even had plastic surgery to get her perfect body and looks. There are other things." Anna said.

"Wow," Sassy said.

"There's nothing wrong in doing plastic surgery, but in this case, it's bad, really bad." Delight said.

"But, there's no evidence that they both caused the fire and even if there was, I honestly don't wanna get involved. I don't wanna have anything to do with the matron or her family." Anna said.

"We're going to get evidence against her. I definitely won't let this slide. My sister keeps blaming Sassy when Sassy didn't even do anything." Delight said.

"Well, I think Sassy is kinda involved. All this happened because Megan saw you with the Alpha, right? It's still kinda your fault, Sassy. It's just that she channeled her anger and revenge in the wrong direction." Anna said.

"Yeah, she could have just come directly at me, instead of doing this. I hope she's happy now." Sassy said.

"How about we pay her a visit?" Delight suggested, excitedly.

"What? No way. Do you wanna get killed this time?" Anna asked.

"And if you go, you won't find anything on them. They would never leave clues at home." Anna said, calmly.

"It seems you know them." Delight said and Anna nodded.

"I don't think we should do this. What has happened has happened. Let's just let go of everything. I wanna get out of here." Sassy said.

"What the f**k are you saying?" Delight asked.

"Yeah, I don't have a place to stay anymore, I have no money, I have nothing. I can't possibly start looking for evidence I can barely stand on my own. I want to go rogue." Sassy said and Anna blinked thrice in shock.

"What?" She said.

"Yeah, what?" Delight added.

"This is my personal decision. I have made up my mind. You both have done enough for me and I appreciate that. But I don't have a life anymore, just let me go rogue. I might finally find happiness." Sassy said.

"Sassy, happiness being wild?" Delight asked again and Anna held her hand.

"Let her be. It's her choice. Sassy, I'll let you know when you can be free to go." Anna said.

"Thank you, Anna., Sassy said and Anna turned to leave.

Delight immediately followed her out of the room.

"Are you seriously letting her do this? You know she wouldn't last two days out in the wild." Delight protested.

"Delight, that isn't for you to decide. She's a werewolf just like you and I. It's a chance for her to explore and if she can't survive it, she can always come back. You don't know what she could get by doing this. Please, let her be." Anna admonished.

"But, she can just stay here. She'll get another job, so she can pay some bills too." Delight said and Anna sighed.

"If she chooses to stay and do nothing, I'm cool with it. I make enough money and having an extra month to feed is not an issue. But, this is her own decision. Let her do it." Anna said.

"But...." Delight said.

"No more buts, Delight. I'm done with this conversation." Anna said and walked to her bedroom.

Delight sighed and walked back to where Sassy was.

Beta Hogan sat in his office, replaying the recording he had gotten from Megan. It was kinda muffled because of the distance between them, while he was recording. But, it was so clear the voice was Megan's.

His suspicions were true after all, but he couldn't believe the matron was this evil. He decided to tell Alpha Murphy about it, but he wouldn't use the recording just yet. He kept the recorder inside his drawer and left to see Alpha Murphy.

Alpha Murphy was also deep in thought as Beta Hogan entered his office.

"I think Megan had something to do with the fire." Alpha Murphy said, and Beta Hogan stopped in his tracks. It seemed Alpha Murphy was also suspicious.

"She did." Beta Hogan said.

"If I find out she tried to hurt Sassy, I swear I'm going to kill her." Alpha Murphy said.

"Since when have you been so protective of Sassy?" Beta Hogan asked.

"What do you mean? I'm the Alpha, it's only right I make sure everyone is safe." Alpha Murphy responded.

"I know, but uh.. don't you think you're taking this a little too personally I've been with you since you became the Alpha and I know how you handle things. But you're taking Sassy's incident too personally I thought you hated her, or are you now in love with her?" Beta Hogan asked, wanting to satisfy his curiosity.

"Quit assuming things. She was my mate. I don't want her getting hurt because of something she never wanted. Because I know, if it was again, the reason why this happened is because of me. And this is why I'll also show everyone that I'm not biased even towards my prospective Luna." Alpha Murphy said and Beta Hogan stared in amusement.

"Well, okay. Do you have any forwards in the investigation, yet?" Beta Hogan asked.

"No, none yet. But, I'll get something soon. But as for now, I want you to help me do something." Alpha Murphy said.

"Alright, what is that?"

"You told me Sassy was given a sum of two hundred thousand dollars which got burnt right? I want you to give her boss back the money. At least, that's something." Alpha Murphy said.

"You're becoming so strange every day I can't even understand you anymore." Beta Hogan said and Alpha Murphy laughed...
