Sassy got to the orphanage and locked herself inside her room. She decided to leave the orphanage now, as she had gotten a little savings. She wouldn't be happy living there again. But before she did that, She first of all went to take her bath as she smelled like Alpha Murphy. When she took off her clothes, she realized her bruises had healed.
"Sage, what happened here?" She asked.
"The mate bond has been severed. There's no link between you two anymore." Sage responded.
Sassy was glad that Sage sounded so alive again. She was also glad there was no link between she and Alpha Murphy any longer.
After taking her bath, she walked out of the bathroom and she realized her phone had been ringing.
Only two people had her contact, and those two people were Delight and the Matron. She picked up the phone and it was the matron.
The matron had taken a one week break to go home, leaving the assistant matron in charge.
"Hello Sassy." The matron's voice said over the phone.
"Hello Matron." Sassy responded, wondering why the matron was calling.
"How are you doing?" The matron asked.
"I'm fine, matron. Is there a problem?" Sassy asked.
"It's been a month now since you turned eighteen.." the matron said.
Sassy didn't know what the matron wanted to talk about, but if it was about her not leaving the orphanage yet, she had to say it first.
"Yeah, I planned on calling you, but since you did it first, then I'll just break the news to you. I'm leaving the orphanage today." Sassy said.
"Do you have a place to stay?" The matron asked.
"No, but I'll find one. That shouldn't be a problem. Thanks for everything matron." Sassy appreciated.
"Umm...I heard you made out with the Alpha today." The matron said and Sassy was startled.
"Where did you hear that?" She asked.
"It doesn't matter who my source is. Is it true or not?" The matron asked again and Sassy felt something was off.
"Yes it is. There's nothing wrong with it, as he was my mate. Or is there something wrong with making out with who the Moon Goddess picked out for you?" Sassy snapped.
"There's nothing wrong with it, Sassy. You used the word 'was '. Why did you do that?" The matron asked.
"Oh, he rejected me. And I accepted his rejection." Sassy replied.
"Oh, great." The Matron said.
Sassy could feel the matron's excitement over the phone.
"You seem excited about it." She said.
"No, not at all dear. Bye." The matron said and hung up the call, while Sassy frowned, suspiciously.
She shrugged and picked up a cargo pant and a shirt and wore them.
She picked up a duffel bag she had bought earlier. She removed all her flowery dresses from her closet and carefully folded them into the bag.
She also carried some of her pants and shirts and some new crop tops she recently bought with a tip she had gotten from a customer at the coffee shop. She folded them all into the bag.
She picked up some makeup and sat in front of her dressing mirror. She carefully applied some makeup on her eyes and lips and brushed her eyebrows. She unpacked her hair and brushed it and picked up a pink bottle of hair spray. She sprayed her flowery hair spray her hair making it look a little damp and shiny. She picked up a few strands of the hair and tied it into a bow at the back of her hair, giving it a princess style.
When she was done, she picked up her duffel bag and her phone and walked out of the room.
She contemplated between going to tell the assistant matron she was leaving or just leaving silently, and finally, she chose the latter.
She stopped a taxi and went to the coffee shop.
Delight saw Sassy with her bag and could easily guess what had happened.
"You finally decided to leave, yeah?" She asked.
"Yeah, I did." Sassy replied.
"I already spoke to my sister, and she agreed you stay in the changing room. As long as you take good care of it, it's not big enough but I hope you manage it." Delight said.
"Thank you so much, Delight." Sassy said and hugged her.
"You're welcome." Delight replied.
Sassy picked up her bag and took it to the changing room. The changing room wasn't as small as Delight said it was. It was almost as big as Sassy's room in the orphanage and there was a bed and a mirror in it already. Sassy kept her things at a corner and walked back to the counter to join Delight.
"He rejected me." She broke the news to Delight.
Delight almost choked on the coffee she was drinking.
"He what?" She asked, to be sure.
"He rejected me." Sassy said again.
"Why?" Delight asked.
"That is what I wanted, Delight. I feel so free and happy again. The bruises he caused me are all gone. Its actually a good thing. You should be happy for me." Sassy said.
"You lost the chance to have been the Luna of the pack, Sassy. There's nothing to be happy about." Delight said and Sassy laughed.
"I never would have been the Luna, he has someone else though she broke up with him when she saw us together." Sassy said.
"Why?" Delight asked.
"Well, we were making out. Don't ask me how, because I honestly don't know how it happened. I just knew we were kissing and all that. And then, this girl, who he called Megan just walked in and started screaming at me. It turned out Murphy promised her he was going to reject me and make her his Luna. She also told me the best he'd do for me is mark me and make me a mistress that would be stuck with him for the rest of my life. I can't possibly deal with that. I forced him to reject me and he did." Sassy explained.
"What if he comes back?" Delight asked.
"He won't come back. Look, I just want to be happy. I won't let anyone hurt me again." Sassy said.
"Alright then." Delight replied wondering how Sassy was happy, knowing fully well she had just been rejected....
