Sassy lived in the coffee shop now, she stayed there peacefully and was contented with the little she had.
Joy, Delight's elder sister was also really nice to her and gave her any assistance she wanted.
Sassy stayed there for few months, helping to Clean up the shop, and also selling to customers till late hours since she stayed there.
Their sales increased massively, till the extent that they began to run out of stock almost everyday. So, Sassy was like the blessing the shop needed.
The shop expanded too, and they began to sell other drinks, instead of just coffee and small chops. They also began to sell things like fried chicken, burgers, pizza and less of coffee.
But one day, things went South.
That day, they made massive sales and Joy asked that Sassy kept all the cash as she didn't want it to be stolen on her way home, as she was leaving late that day.
The total money was about two hundred thousand dollars, a huge sum of money.
It was the first time Sassy was having such a huge sum with her, so she tucked it behind a cupboard.
Due to tiredness, Sassy slept off as soon as she took her bath and she slept deeply too.
At about 3am, she woke up to the smell of something burning. At first, she thought she was just imagining things, but when the smoke began to choke her, she jumped up from the bed. She looked around and the burning smell wasn't coming from her room, but....the coffee shop!
She ran out of the room to the coffee shop. The fire was raging and grew by the second. In confusion, she couldn't locate her phone so she could call the fire service department.
The fire kept increasing and was destroying everything quickly. Sassy braved in and was able to locate the fire extinguisher on the wall. It wasn't able to extinguish anything as it was empty.
Oh dear!
She rushed back to her room and finally found her phone and in a shaky voice, she was able to call the fire service.
After about five minutes, the fire service finally arrived, but Sassy was stuck inside the shop.
One firetruck wasn't able to put out the fire, so another truck came after few minutes.
"Sage, take over." She whispered and her eyes turned yellow and her bones began to c***k, and her body also began to change shape, she phased into a white furry wolf for the first time. She howled trying to alert the firemen that she was inside.
But they couldn't hear her as they were trying to put out the fire, one of the firemen remembered they hadn't seen the lady that placed the call across to them.
He walked through and began searching for her. Sassy kept using all her wolf strength to howl and hit the door. She finally broke it and the fireman saw a white wolf. He immediately knew it was the lady that had called him, and he directed her outside, where she phased back to her human form with bruises and bloodstains all over her, and then she passed out.
They were finally able to put out the fire by 4am. But the damage had been done.
Sassy was already awake then. She fell on her knees in tears, not knowing what to explain. She didn't know what started the fire or where it started from.
Joy and Delight finally arrived at the shop and rushed into the destroyed remains of it.
Delight only covered her mouth, but Joy couldn't be consoled.
A crowd began to form there and other werewolves tried to console her.
After about an hour of crying, Joy and Delight finally remembered Sassy was around.
"Where's Sassy?" Delight asked.
"Yes! Sassy! She should know what had happened." Joy said, and they both searched for her.
They found her still crumpled on her knees in a daze.
Delight immediately hugged her on finding out she was alive, but Joy pulled Sassy out of Delight's embrace and slapped her.
"What the hell did you do to my shop?" She asked.
"Sis, it isn't her fault. She's injured too." Delight argued, trying to protect Sassy.
"I wasn't talking to you." Joy snapped back in rage.
"I don't know what happened. I honestly don't. I was only awoken by the smell of something burning." Sassy explained.
"You b***h! You burnt my shop to ashes! Because I let you in? Now I see why the whole pack hates you. You must be cursed!" Joy said and Delight held her.
"Please, don't say that sis. Sassy is innocent." She pleaded.
"Innocent huh? Sassy, I gave you a huge sum of money last night. Where is it?" Joy asked and Delight turned to Sassy, hoping she was able to keep the money safe.
The money!
Sassy had forgotten about the money.
She rushed back into the shop to where the cupboard used to be, but it was burnt and the only thing that remained what was burnt wood. There was no sign of money or paper being there before.
"No no no no no." Sassy said and cried.
Delight walked in and stood behind her.
"I...I..it's burnt." She whispered and bent next to Sassy.
"It's gone, Delight. Everything...gone...how can I ever explain this? I don't know how this happened. I swear." Sassy said and choked on her tears.
Delight couldn't say a word as she kept crying.
Joy stomped into the shop and pulled Sassy by her hair.
"Where is my two hundred thousand dollars?" She asked and Sassy whimpered.
"Where is my damn money?" She said and flung Sassy towards the pieces of broken wood at a corner. Sassy screamed in pain as some pieces of the wood tore into her skin.
"Sis, please. This isn't her fault." Delight cried.
"Stay out of this!" Joy yelled at her sister and Delight huddled up in fear. She knew how Joy could be when she was angry.
Her wolf always took control and could barely be stopped.
"Please, please, don't hurt me." Sassy begged. Sage was pleading to take over, but Sassy refused. She knew it was all her fault. Maybe she could have been more careful.
Joy walked towards her again and pressed her face against the floor.
"You damn b***h! I let you into my life! I treated you like family, yet this is how you chose to repay me?" She yelled.
Some people from the crowd finally came and they were able to restrain Joy before she would kill Sassy.
"I don't ever wanna see you again. Take whatever is remaining of your things and leave!" Joy yelled from afar.
Delight helped Sassy to her feet. One side of Sassy's face was bleeding profusely as that was the side that had been pressed against the ground.
Delight went into Sassy's room and packed up the remaining clothes that was able to escape the fire.
She took Sassy out and went to the side of the road to get a taxi.
Sassy was weak and she could feel her senses going black.
But, before she blacked out totally, she heard a familiar voice say;
"Good job. Let me see how she survives this one. I'm really glad her poor boss thinks she caused the fire. Send me your details, I'll forward the money to you. Next time, the Alpha wouldn't choose her."
And then she blacked out....
