Vannellapishia’
“The Best Time of a Lifetime”
Chapter 2.
Vannellapishia's head tilted back and forth as she regained consciousness. As the puffiness in her eyes disappeared, things became clear again. Her eyes slowly opened to the rabbit staring deep into her eyes.
“Are you alright, my lady?” The rabbit spoke in a gentle manner, as he caressed her left cheek with the tip of his index finger. He picked up her hands and held them together.
“Yes, I'm quite fine,” Vannellapisha replied. “...But, who are you?”
“I am Theodore Nareem Roofillis the fifteenth. I am a kind lad, from the Blossomus Kingdom.”
“...And that is?”
“...It is a far away land where everything blossoms, sparkles, and shines. It is home to many royalty: princesses, knight and shining kangaroos, golden birds, prince rabbits, and more…”
“Okay… And what does any that have to do with me?”
“Well nothing… It's just that I noticed how beautifully and gracefully you danced, and I was intrigued. So, I just had to introduce myself.”
“Is the sidewalk the only place where you have seen me?”
“I have seen you leave the diner… a couple of times. I watch you leave school, every now and then. I watch you walk home… everyday.”
“...EVERYDAY!”
“...I mean… or… sometimes…” The rabbit giggled, humorously.
“What makes me so special that you want to watch me all of the time?”
“You're beyond captivating. You dance like a swan in the wind. You sing like a rose under the sun. Your beauty wakes up the Earth, and let's nothing go back to rest.”
“...I can't believe I'm being sweet talked by a talking rabbit in a costume?”
“...Actually, it's a royal tailored suit, crafted by the queen of the Eastern Wing of the Blossomus Kingdom. I got it made to impress you.” Theodore shook his hip.
“Well it worked. I'm officially freaked out!” Vannellapisha arched her eyebrow, stomped up the front steps, and slammed the door of the apartment building. With teary, wide eyes, Theodore looked up at the door, staring through the panes of the window glass.
“Go away, you freak!” Vannellapisha shouted as she began to walk towards the stairs. She lived on the fourth floor of the building.
“Vannellapishia, please take me in! I will be good and kind!” Theodore begged with a deep frown on his face.
Vannellapishia marched back towards the front door, quickly opened the door, and picked up the rabbit and held him on her hip like a big baby. As she headed back inside, she quickly rushed upstairs to her apartment room, in hopes that no one would see them.
After getting inside of her room, she quickly slammed the door shut, and sat Theodore on the couch in front of the TV screen that was already playing classical orchestra songs. “You don't quit do you?” She calmly said to Theodore.
Theodore replied, “I am a determined man.”
