How Can Anyone Love Her

Sarah lived in a small village on the outskirts of a big city with her parents, older sister and younger brother. They didn't have much money to buy luxury things or go on holiday or have nice new clothes. But she was a happy child who was very shy. Sarah had light blue eyes, long light brown hair with blonde in it. She lived playing with her dolls and enjoyed her own company. She did play with her brother sometimes but that was only when her big sister wasn't there. Her big sister hated her but she never knew why. So she chose to keep out of her way. It was the middle of November, it was dark and cold outside so Sarah was in the dinning room hiding under the table playing with her dolls, when she heard her dad shouting. Sarah instantly knew that someone was going to get into trouble and she also knew that it was going to be her even though she hadn't moved from that spot for hours. Her dad continued to shout until Sarah, her brother and sister where all stood in front of him. They were all scared and nervous because they knew what was going to happen. "Who has left this mess here on the bench and who has put salt in my cup of tea?" Her dad bellowed. Sarah stood there quietly and scared to even look at her sister Claire or brother Craig. Suddenly Claire spoke "I think it was Sarah dad" and her brother agreed just so he wouldn't get into trouble. "Get out of my sigh you two" her dad snarled "Sarah you stay here" Sarah stood there frozen unable to move or speak to say that she didn't do anything. Her dad might have believed her if she did speak up but she never did. Her dad grabbed her arm and raised his hand in the air and smacked the top of her legs. He treated this three times and on the third blow Sarah wet herself. This made her dad even more angry and he hit her again shouting "How dare you piss yourself when I'm punishing you for something you have done, you've now got my hand stinking of it". He left go if her arm and told her to go and clean herself up and tidy up the mess that she didn't make. She walked away unable to hold back the tears and went upstairs to her bedroom to change her clothes. When she got to her bedroom she heard Claire say to Craig, "I knew putting the salt instead of the sugar in dad's tea would make him angry and smack Sarah". Sarah could not believe what she was hearing and got changed, took her dirty clothes and put them in the washer. She didn't turn it on because she didn't know how to, so she would have to wait for her mam getting home from work.
