Chapter Six

645 Words
Jennifer We fixed a day in our spring break to go see Seth, and the day is finally here. I am nervous as hell, but I had to keep up my notorious stance so no one would see through me. Even among the gang members, I am feared and highly respected... I might be gentle, but you could never offend me or any member of the gang and go scott free. I'll hunt you down. Paige is always our designated driver, since she's the only one with a car and a license. My mom seized mine on the day that incident happened, and I have no idea when she would return it to me. I had to board a cab to go join them at Paige's house. Her house is on the same route as Seth's company. "Good afternoon babes, can we be on our way?" I asked when I got there, so we wouldn't take time sitting and discussing. "Good afternoon Jen, sure... The earlier, the better" Becky replied, getting up from the sofa at the same time as Paige. We all headed to the car. I sat beside Paige in the front while Becky sat at the back. "Please ladies, I feel we shouldn't argue with Seth about this matter, rather we should plead with him till he agrees" Becky said from behind. "Of course, we aren't going there to argue, arguing with Seth is like a waste of time, and it'll only make him angrier" Paige replied, still focused on the road. They finally got to Seth's company and headed straight to his office. This wasn't their first time visiting, so they were familiar with the company. Getting to his office, I knocked on the door, and we waited to get a response before we entered. "Good morning Seth", the three of us greeted at once. He doesn't like us calling him boss, so we call him by his name. "Good morning ladies, I hope all is well... I'm sure there's no meeting today," Seth said, adjusting his seat. "Yes Seth, there is no meeting today, but we needed to see you, which is why we decided to come over to the company," I informed him. "Okay then ladies, I'm all ears" Seth muttered. "Uhhmmm, we would love to talk to you about our involvement in the gang. I mean we would soon be done with school, and we would have some other things to focus on... So, we felt like telling you that we would love to quit immediately. We are done with school..." I trailed looking at my friends for help. "Yes Seth, we came here to speak to you and inform you that we would love to quit the gang after school. I personally, would be leaving the city immediately after my final papers," Paige added, nervously picking on her nails. Clearing his throat, Seth started "let me get this right, you ladies want to quit the gang after school, right?" he asked. "Yes Seth" Becky replied to him. "And you think that's possible?" he asked, smiling, "come on ladies, haven't you heard the saying that *no man puts his hands into the snow and complains of cold* ?" he questioned. "You all joined the gang without being forced, right? Because of that, I'll see what I can do. You'll be given a task each and if you're able to do the task you'll be free to leave," Seth said, *but it's never going to be an easy task, he murmured only to his hearing* "Thank you, Seth", we all said and stood up to leave. Before we left, I looked at Seth one more time and his facial expression got me scared *I hope he doesn't send someone after us*. Leaving Seth's office, we were cautious of our steps and at alert incase he sends someone after us.
