CHAPTER 16

MYXY’S POV

Because of what happened, I’m simply holding my breath, and I’m disgusted with myself. I made a mistake that I’m not sure if I should repent for or blame myself for since I was irresponsible that night. When I opened my eyes, I saw Joy’s and Karol’s beaming faces. I scowled at them since they were now in my cabin.

“What are you doing here?” I wondered.

“Yesterday you didn’t go out and didn’t let Haiden in. Are you angry with him?” Karol asked me, then I stood up and shook my head.

Pompom came to me, then sat next to me while looking at Karol and Joy. “I just want silence first,” I said, turning around and entering the room.

“Myxy!” I looked at the door when aunt Pneona called my name. “Yesterday you were locked up there! Aren’t you going to practice?” she said, then I covered my face.

I’m not going to do anything since I still can’t get over what happened. Because of what transpired, I moaned and wished to be absorbed by the ground and vanish from this world. Because of that, all I could think about was what would happen in our agreement. I couldn’t say he merely disregarded what occurred, but I know Haiden would not abandon me.

I lay down on the bed and closed my eyes to get rid of whatever was bothering me. I want to be at ease and not be frightened about what happened. I awoke when I felt someone come up in my bed, and as I opened my eyes, there was Haiden on top of me.

“Haiden…” I mention his name.

I closed my eyes when he slowly came closer to my face, but I immediately opened my eyes when I felt his head on my chest. I don’t know what he is doing or why he is doing it now. He held my hand, and then he let out a loud sigh as if he were tired from the whole day he had. I don’t know what happened.

“What are you doing here?” I asked him.

“They said you didn’t go out from yesterday until today. I know you’re angry with me because of what happened,” he said, then grabbed my forehead.

“Let’s just forget that thing happened, Haiden,” I said, and then he looked at me.

“Do you know how important you are to me now?” he asked, and I didn’t know if I should answer or not. “You are more important than my life, and if it weren’t for you, I wouldn’t be strong, Myxy,” he whispered, but it was enough for me to hear.

It’s dark outside, and I know it’s night. The light from the moon that comes from outside is what lights up the room. I just sighed, then I held his face and faced him. “I’m not mad at you because of what happened, but I’m disgusted with myself because I did it even though I shouldn’t have,” I said.

I saw the beauty in Haiden’s eyes, and honestly, I don’t know why I’m like this to him now when he’s not as strong as I expected. He still has a lot to do for their pack, while I have a lot to learn about being a witch.

He smiled at me, then hugged me. I didn’t complain and just accepted what happened. I can’t change that anymore, and another thing is that I’m not afraid of what might happen after what happened to us. I didn’t realize the time and fell asleep again without even eating anything today.

The next morning, I awoke to the sound of Pompom barking from outside the room. I stood up, smelled the food, and my stomach churned, indicating that I was hungry. I exited the room when I noticed Haiden, who was wearing an apron and cooking breakfast on the table.

My jaw dropped when I saw him that way. To be honest, I looked down at his body, as he was not wearing anything on it except his apron and shorts. I swallowed because of what I was witnessing and was being told whether I should approach or not because I felt that I was full even though I am not.

“Aren’t you going to eat? I know you haven’t eaten since yesterday,” he said, and I bit my lip.

“Ahh…” I couldn’t speak.

The nervousness rumbled in my chest because of his approach to me, then he grabbed both of my shoulders. “Let’s go eat,” he said.

He made me sit in front of the table, then he prepared me something to eat. I really can’t stop myself from being thrilled by what he’s doing, and it seems like he’s recovering now because of what happened to the two of us. Then my anger towards him seemed to disappear, as did the doubt in my chest. While he was preparing food for me, Joy, Karol, and Titus arrived just in time. I saw Karol’s appetite for what was served on the plate while Joy looked at Haiden.

“You didn’t say there was a good breakfast here,” said Joy, looking at Haiden.

“Do you want me to cook for you while I’m also topless?” Titus said, and I covered my mouth because I was trying not to laugh.

“You’re disgusting,” Joy said, causing Karol to laugh at them.

“Titus is handsome like Haiden; why are you so picky?” he said, and then he sat next to me.

I didn’t move, then I tasted all of Haiden’s cooking for me. Haiden got dressed first so he could join me to eat, and just in time, Aunt Pneona arrived. While we were eating, I couldn’t help but smile because I could see them all smiling too. I just saw Haiden smile in front of his friends. I don’t see him smile, and if he does, maybe it’s only for a moment.

I looked at Aunt Pneona, who was looking at me, then she smiled strangely. I just winced because I knew she knew what I was thinking. After we ate, we went to where Aunt and I were rehearsing for being a witch. While standing and looking around I couldn’t help but worry about my mother’s condition.

I gasped when aunt Pneona approached me, then she held me by the shoulder and smiled at me; I just smiled at her. She took out a book and then gave it to me, which made me frown. I don’t know what this book is for, but I think it’s about other spells that I haven’t studied yet.

“How can this book help me?” I asked her.

“That’s my book, and that’s what you’re going to study right now because you haven’t memorized the book you’re holding yet,” she said, then I looked at the book I was holding. “I’ll leave you here for now so you can study what’s inside that book.”

She left me just as she had stated. I took another look at the book and noticed Aunt Pnoena carrying it. I hadn’t seen that book with her before, and from what I recall, she didn’t have anything else with her than the one book I’d seen previously. I just sat down, opened the book, and saw the words floating in front of me, which I couldn’t understand.

Everything surrounds me, and I am encircled by various lights. At that moment, the letters created seemed like a riddle to me. I’m confused as it develops in front of me, and I feel dizzy.

“A heart with good intentions will have unexpected power; weakness will become a strength, and strength will become a weakness, with the arrival of the red moon, the strength will be showed up.”

After I finished reading, I grimaced and clutched my left chest. I’m at a loss for what to do or how to close the book. Each page rushes by, and I feel weaker at that point. A gem was unveiled before me.

I couldn’t open my mouth and said nothing. My vision is fuzzy, and I get the sensation that my spirit is separating from my body. I very recently felt and experienced this, and I honestly have no idea what sort of book Aunt handed me. I closed my eyes gently and felt my body float in the air. I don’t remember anything after that.

I woke up in a soft and fragrant bed. When I opened my eyes, I only saw beautiful surroundings and very expensive equipment. I immediately got up, then walked around the room, where I unexpectedly bumped into a chair, causing me to fall to the floor. I was shocked at that point, and then I heard a crash all around from the door. A woman was wearing a strange dress that looked like a royal.

“My princess, are you alright?” she asked worriedly, then my forehead furrowed.

“What princess? Who are you?” I wondered.

She immediately helped me stand up, then I fixed myself. It was only then that I realized that my voice had changed. I tried to speak, but I couldn't believe what I was hearing. I immediately looked for the mirror, looked at myself, then held onto the mirror because I couldn’t believe what my eyes were seeing. Since when did I have a beautiful face and strange-colored eyes?

“W-what’s happening? What the fck is this?”

“Dear princess, what happened to you?” the maid said worriedly, and I couldn't even look at her.

“Why is it like this? What is this? Who is this?” I asked myself one after the other.

“What happened to you?” she ask again.

This time I faced her, then I came closer. “What’s My Name? What in the World is this? Why am I here?” I asked her, and I could see that even she was confused by my behavior.

I ran out of the room, and the maid immediately followed me, and when I got down, I saw the beauty of the whole area, and I was really in the palace. All the maids came out all around, then I held my head and was confused about what was really happening to me. I’m almost crazy because of what I see around me.

“Dear princess,” the maids called to me.

“What in the world is happening, and where am I?”

“Maia.” I turned to the caller, then I saw a man with a beautiful face and an attractive smile.

“M-me?” I said, pointing to myself.

“What is happening to you now?” he asked and looked at me.

It means that this body’s name is Maia, and this man has the same face as this woman. This man is probably her brother. When he got close to me, he looked at me from head to toe and signaled to the maids, and they immediately grabbed me by the same arm that had made me nervous.

“W-wait… let me go!”

“You need to prepare for the celebration later, Maia,” he said, then I stopped looking at him.

“Celebration later? What kind of celebration?” I asked in surprise.

He didn’t answer me, and the maids quickly took me back to the room and quickly let me into the bathroom. When I got there, they quickly poured water over me, which surprised me, especially with the cold water that touched my skin. No matter how much I tried to get out of their grip , I couldn’t let go until they finished bathing me. When my body was wrapped in a robe, they made me sit in front of the mirror.

It was only then that I stared at the face of the woman I’d been through. I don’t know why this is happening to me. I held my face, then I saw some events, and when I saw those, I immediately inhaled, then I held my head. This happened to me just now, and even once, I have never been able to borrow someone else’s body.

“What does this have to do with what is happening to me today? What mission is waiting for me?” I wondered while looking in the mirror.

“Help me.” I gasped when my reflection in the mirror suddenly spoke.

I looked at the maids around, but they didn't seem to see anything, so I looked at it again. “W-what are you doing?” I wondered.

“I’m sorry for what happened to you, but you are the only one who can help me at this time. I don’t know my aunt’s plan because she knows Mio will be the next to inherit the throne. She wants to replace her son with my brother’s body so that she will rule the entire Mathia Kingdom, something that worries me. Especially if they get one of the powerful gemstones,” she explained, which I understood.

“Also here, I have a responsibility,” I said, annoyed at myself.
