MYXY’S POV
As I looked at Maia, I couldn’t help but be annoyed with her mother, whom I thought loved her child equally. I signaled to Maia, but I could also see that she seemed weak at that moment. I approached her, held her hand, and looked her in the eyes.
“You don’t have to be weak. You can do something, and you can fight your aunt if you just work up your courage, Maia. I feel you have other hidden powers. I know you can do it,” I whispered to her, then I looked at Makaia.
“How did you get inside Maia’s body?” She was asking me a surprising question.
“I don’t know either, but I won’t let go of what you did today, Makaia,” I replied.
Then I signaled the sword again, and this time he swallowed it. I saw how her hand was clenched, then I looked at her son, who was looking at me, and I couldn’t believe what was happening. I don’t know if I have dirt on my face or if he just sees me as beautiful. I just ignored him, then I looked at Maia and told her what she should do. She doesn’t know what to do first or how to do the right thing.
I looked at Mio, then I grabbed his arm and took a sword, and gave it to him. “You are now the king of Mathia Kingdom. You shouldn’t just depend on Maia because you won’t be with her forever. The day will come when she will be away from you and will have her own family. You have no one else to trust but yourself, Mio,” I said here, then he looked at the sword he was holding.
After I did that, I took the gem from my pocket and threw it away. They all looked up, and I immediately put my hand there, and a big symbol came out. When I did that, many arrows came out, and Makaia couldn’t do anything but put a barrier on herself. I looked at Maia, then she moved and put her hand on her aunt, causing her to splash.
Because of what Maia did, Marcus was not able to release it immediately, and it was with her splashing out. When Maia did that, I saw how a strange power came out of her body, and I smiled because of that. I didn’t expect the outcome to be like that, nor did I expect it to be that strong. At that time, I knew that no one else could help them but themselves.
I closed my eyes when suddenly someone jumped from the ceiling of the palace, then the monsters appeared in front of us. “Sh*t!” I said, annoyed, and when I was about to help, it just didn’t go any further.
I felt myself spring up and just let myself hit something hard. But I woke up when I heard someone move behind me, and when I looked to see who it was, I saw Marcus’ face. I didn’t expect what he would do, and I didn’t know that he was behind me.
“What the hell do you think you’re fvcking doing?” I said, annoyed.
“Helping you, what else?” he replied and it annoyed me even more because one of his hands was going to my thigh.
“I’m already taken you, maron!”
As soon as I said that, I saw the seriousness on his face disappear, and then he grinned at me. I don’t know what he was thinking, but I looked at what fell from the ceiling. When I saw it, I gasped. I didn’t know there was a dragon in this world. I looked for Maia, and when I saw her, I immediately approached her. She doesn’t know what to do, and I can see that she is just dumbfounded by everything around her.
“Maia!” I shouted her name.
She looked at me with scared eyes, and just as she was about to take a step, she was stopped when suddenly a monster appeared in front of her. I immediately summoned a sword, then I rushed at the monster, and fought the disciples who had Makaia. It’s annoying that they weren’t even taught how to use weapons, and the only ones fighting for them were their soldiers.
“This is not the right time for you to be stupid,” I said angrily, then I looked him in the eyes. I erected a barrier around us and held her on both shoulders. “You should not be afraid; do you know what could happen to all of them? They will die by the time your aunt succeeds in what she is planning, and you will all fall down,” I said, immediately removing the barrier.
Why am I still carrying a heavy responsibility that is not mine? I’m weak, but I have to be strong for the people around me. They can’t see me weak, and they can’t see me not fighting until my last breath. While fighting, I was just looking at Maia and what she was going to do.
But everything stopped when she saw Makaia holding her niece Mio and holding the sword in her right hand while pointing it at Mio’s neck. The queen was worried, and the king didn’t know what to do. I clenched my hand and immediately killed the enemy who was about to rush at me. When I did that, I got tired of looking at Maia, who was just looking at her brother.
I did what I could, and I did my part as her share of her body. But if she keeps getting weaker, she won’t be able to handle it all. As she looked at her brother, I saw nothing else in her eyes. It was only her brother’s reflection that seemed to be asking her for help.
“Even if you are not the first child, even if you are not the heir to the crown, you are the one who gave the responsibility to your brother, who does not know how to fight or how to defend himself. There’s a lot you want to do, but you can't do it because you have nothing else to do but guide Mio,” she said, and Maia’s tears started to fall.
All I can do is give Maia strength. I’m not responsible for their entire kingdom because I’m not a superhero. I’m just waiting to see what Maia does to her brother and aunt. When I looked at the queen, she was staring at Mio. She doesn’t care about anyone else, but Mio and Maia don’t appear to exist in front of her. Maia’s situation will hurt me as well, but because we have different experiences, I can’t just act. I gasped when I felt something, and I looked outside the palace. I know that strange power, and if I’m not mistaken, it comes from the gems in the secret garden.
“I didn’t expect to be the heir to that crown. I never even dreamed of being the queen of the entire Mathia Kingdom. There is only one thing I want, and that is to fulfill my parent’s wishes when I can do my duty here,” she said, making me frown.
She doesn’t want to be queen or have any responsibility in the entire Mathia Kingdom. I just held my breath, then I looked around. I was amazed at the strange light that seemed to be crawling all around, and it was going towards Maia. When it reached her, she just absorbed it as if it were part of her body. I really don't understand what is happening.
Maia’s body lit up, and I didn’t know what was happening. As far as I can see, Mathaia can’t believe what she is witnessing, and she doesn’t seem to know that this is going to happen. She shook her head, and at that point, she let go of Mio.
“I knew it. You’re hiding the gems!” she shouted, and I frowned.
“You are not the owner of the gems, Makaia,” said the queen, and we looked at her. “Because those gems would not have been given to you if not to Maia.”
Makaia was speechless when the queen said that. She just sat there on the floor, and Maia continued to float in the air until it left the palace. Everyone who comes into contact with her light burns to ashes, which is why our enemies vanish like bubbles. As I looked at them, I didn’t know if I should help or if I should go back. But how can I return if I have no idea how?
“Myxy,” I turned around when I heard my name called.
I know that voice, and I miss that voice. I didn’t know where it was coming from until I heard a dog howling. When I looked up, suddenly there was so much light that it covered the whole area, and I didn’t know what happened next.
When I opened my eyes, the dog’s face was revealed to me, and at that moment, I suddenly got up, causing me to bump into its snout. It immediately changed its form, and while I was holding my forehead, I was looking at him.
“Haiden?”
“Fvck it,” he said, annoyed.
“Why do you look like a dog?” I said, annoyed.
“I was staring at you all the time, then you suddenly woke up,” he explained.
“Naughty!”
“What?” He looked at me, and then he came closer to me, which made me nervous. “After what happened to the two of us, you’re just going to call me rude?” he said and seemed to be still teasing.
I covered my face and was embarrassed because of what happened. “Stop that!”
“What are you doing that you fell asleep?” he asked, then I looked at the book Aunt Pneona gave me.
“Reading,” I answered, then opened it.
My eyes widened when I saw the image in the book, and I was there as well as Maia, Mio, Marcus, Makaia, the king, and the queen. I moved the book to another page, and there I didn’t know what to think. But as far as I can see, Maia has done her duty.
I like what happened, and honestly, I gave Maia strength because of that. I stood up, then looked around and thought about what was happening in the Witch Land again. I want to help them, and I want to do what is more worthwhile for the good of the whole witch land. Haiden raised his hand, then I looked at it. I don’t know if I’ll take it or not.
“We have to go back. You were sleeping there a while ago,” he said, and then I smiled secretly.
“I’ll be next to you; I just need to study something,” I said, then he frowned.
“What is it?” he wondered.
“You don’t need to find out,” I answered, then he shrugged his shoulders at me.
“I’ll wait for you, ok?” he said, and I nodded to him in response.
I turned my back on Haiden, then I reached into my pocket, and there I got the gem given to me by Maia. I smiled while holding it, then I raised my hand and uttered a spell. When I did that, a symbol appeared in front of me, and I didn’t expect anything to appear there but a huge dragon, and Haiden quickly changed form and blocked in front of me as if it was going to kill me.
The dragon howled in front of us, and I closed my eyes because of that. His breath didn’t smell that good; that's why I covered my nose. “Yuck, disgusting,” I said, then blew out the smoke.
I looked at the dragon, then I gave him my hand. “What are you doing, Myxy?” Haiden asked, seeming worried.
“Summoning a dragon?” I answered and looked at the dragon in front of me with a smile.
The dragon in front of me was looking at my hand, and I was just looking into its eyes. It’s a strange dragon, and it’s different than the dragon I saw in the witchland they were riding. He brought his face closer to my hand, and then I felt his presence. I smiled when he did that, and I finally approached him.
“Amazing.”
