Chapter 6: Concern

Riya's POV~
"What the hell is going on here?", I heard a familiar yet angry voice.
All the maids and I were shocked listening the voice.
I lift my head to see Austin standing with a pissed expression. I gulped looking at him.
"I don't like repeating myself ", he said with a gritted teeth.
"Mr.Knight...", the maid said in a low voice. I looked at them...all of them are in tense state.
"I wanted to cook dinner...", I said in a low yet firm voice. I looked down when I saw him fuming with anger.
He took my wrist and started dragging me upstairs.
"Ah...It hurts....", I yelped while trying to get my hand out of his grip.
He looked at me and loosened his grip a little.
He first pushed me into his room and he entered the room. He closed the door with a thud. I flinched at the loud noise.
"Austin...", I said in a low voice.
"Can't you even understand a single word? I said you to take rest..", he said with a gritted teeth.
"What is the word that you didn't understood in this sentence?", he asked.
"Austin...Actually.. ", I said but when I saw his angry face I just didn't speak at all.
"Speak dammit...", he said.
"Actually...I am..preparing dinner for...for...Ayu...yes.. Ayu...", I said. He rolled his eyes and went outside without talking to me.
Thank God!!! I got an excuse...What happens when I prepare dinner for today? Why is he so stubborn? but I like it when he show his concern to me
I slowly went downstairs to finish the dinner but my eyes widened when he started yelling and instructing the maids.
"You guys know that, she fainted in the morning but still you let her enter to the kitchen", Austin yelled. Everybody flinched at his rough voice.
"Mr.Knight...We make sure..we don't repeat this mistake again", head maid said in a low voice.
"Why am I giving the salaries to you when she has to work ?", Austin yelled again.
"Sorry Mr.Knight", the maids said in a union.
"Austin...Please don't scold them..", I said while coming downstairs.
"You will not listen to my words right? So let's punish them", Austin said. I was shocked hearing that.
"Austin please....you don't mean that", I said while trembling seeing him.
"I mean the every damn word..that I said", he yelled in anger.
"Austin..Please...don't punish them...It's my mistake", I said while tears running from my eyes. He just looked at me blankly.
"Austin...Listen to me..I will not do the work from now on...They said to me to rest but I didn't listen", I panicked while holding his hands.
"Please...Austin...Please...", I said while crying.
"You better do that....", he said while glaring at me.
"And all of you...Get back to work ", Austin said in a strict voice.
Everybody just nodded and starting to disperse into the mansion to their works. Austin went to his study.
All of the maids...including me sighed in relief.
"Mrs.Knight!!", they said looking at me.
"Don't worry...I will make sure all of you be here only", I said. They sighed in relief.
"Come on...Please drink water...calm down yourselves", I said. They sighed in relief. I smiled looking at them.
The head maid came to me.
"Mrs.Knight...I want to talk to you..", the head maid said.
"Sure..", I said.
"Can we go to garden?", she asked.
"Sure..", I said.
After going to the garden, we both sat on the chairs in the garden.
"Mrs.Knight....Did you notice any changes in Mr.Knight?", she asked.
Of course, she will...As she is the one who is seeing him from many years. She can see the difference in him.
"Changes? in terms of behaviour?", I asked.
"Yes..", she said in a low voice.
"Yes..I don't know why he is suddenly interested in me...? I mean I don't know..", I said.
"You know...Mrs.Knight....we saw slightly the old Mr.Knight...Who cares for someone, who is taking concern for someone?", she said.
"huh? Are you sure?", I asked.
"Yes..Mrs.Knight....Finally your efforts paid off", she said. Tears are flowing from my eyes.
"Really?", I asked.
"Yes..Mrs.Knight", she said smiling.
"I am telling this only because..I don't want you to misunderstand, Mr.Knight...His way of caring is very different...", she said. I nodded.
"And all of the members in this mansion know..Mr.Knight is not going to do any punishment as he was saying...He is just scaring you..so that you won't dare to household work", she said. I nodded.
"Please understand him, Mrs.Knight...He is gem of a person. He is just broken because of his first..", she trailed.
"First wife...", I completed the sentence and she looked down.
"Don't worry...I am not feeling bad...I know him before ", I said.
"Sorry Mrs.knight", she said.
"Please don't say that...I understand ", I said.
"Thanks Mrs.Knight for understanding him...I'll leave now", she said.
"Shall we go inside?", she asked.
"You can go...I will be here for sometime..", I said. She smiled.
"Please come fast..or else you will catch cold.." , she said. I nodded smiling at her.
I sat in the Indian style while thinking about what she said. Austin is really different..I don't know what is he thinking or what he says even after 9 months of living with him. Actually, it's tough as we never interfered in each other's business but I always consider him as my husband. I always make donations in the name of him and Ayu. I hope they both get all the blessings in this world.
How my life changed when he asked or threatened me to marry him? I know he is doing that because of Ayu but I am happy that I agreed.
My Ayu made me a mother which everyone think was impossible. I am his mother..he is my child. I smiled while saying that. He is my child...no one can take him away from him. I will not allow anyone to take him away from me.
I cane out of my thinking section when I heard a voice.
"Mrs.Knight...Mr.Knight is calling you for dinner...", a maid said.
"What? He...he is calling..me..me", I said while pointing my finger at me.
"Yes Mrs.Knight", she said panting.
"Okay..let's go", I said.
After that, I came inside the mansion. I went to the dining table to see Ayu is in Austin arms. He is saying something to Ayu stopped when he saw me.
"Hmph..", I groaned while looking at his attitude.
I sat in my chair while looking at his father-son duo. They both look so cute together.
"Ayu...Ayu...Come beta...let's eat dinner...", I said. As soon as I said it, Ayu came to me while keeping his hands towards me indicating me to take him from his dad's arms. I laughed seeing him.
I took Ayu from his arms. I made Ayu eat the food.
"Ayu...Are you full?", I asked in a babyish voice. When I was keeping another bite infront of his mouth. He turned away from the food.
"Are you full, baby?", I asked. He nodded.
"My prince...Dinner is done.. ", I said while wiping his mouth neatly.
After eating the dinner, I was about to make Ayu sleep then I can eat the food.
"Ayu...Let's sleep after playing some time..", I said. As soon as lecturer, I uttered this sentence, some maids slapped their forehead, some maids looked shocked, some maids trying to say something...When I turned my gaze , I saw Austin glaring at me. I slapped my forehead being so stupid that I said that in front of him. I am gone now. I smiled awkwardly looking at me.
"I will eat...", I said in a low voice.
"Nila...Take Ayu to the play room for sometime..", he said.
"Yes..Mr.knight", the maid said and took Ayu from my hands.
After Ayu went off, Everyone left me alone with him. I gulped looking at him.
I slowly started serving the dinner in my plate. I can feel he is looking at my every move intently.
"If...if you have any work..you can go...I will complete the dinner.. ", I said trembling by his gaze.
"Now..you will tell me what should I do?", he asked while slightly smirking at me.
"...N..no..no...I don't mean that...I...I...", I stuttered due to nervousness.
"Why are you scared? Where is that woman who argue with me.?", he asked smiling.
"She died..", I said in a low tone. His expressions went hard.
"I don't..mean...it", I said panicking but he silently left.
Then I slapped my mouth for uttering those words. Why I have uttered those words? I don't really have any control at all?!..
May be I just apologize....yes...Then I will ask him whether we can just stay as friends atleast...Even I take him as my husband...but he didn't really accept me as his wife...But I will not lose my hope.
Even it is a small step...I will take that step to mend our relationship...I hope Austin also does this...
