After Fox and Jasper showed me around the realm, seeing all the dragons bow to me but something bugged me, where are the females? Fox and Jasper led me to the palace and led me inside the grand hall my mouth dropped open, twenty foot ceilings with paintings as far as my eyes would allow, a deep blue rug laid out that split into three paths, as my heels clicked with the marble floor, a gold flag with my family cest I looked back at Jasper and Fox.
"Is that, why I have my cest?" Jasper nodded slightly knowing he would go further into details, he took Nina's arm into his as they walked from the grand hall to a small office. Where Jasper opened it letting Nina in, a cherry oak desk, in the center in the middle, with a plain black leather chair hugged next to it, books from ceiling to floor in their designated spots. I looked to my right, in a large frame I saw...my mother. Slowly walking to it taking in the painting, my mother's long hair fell to her hips she wore a crimson colored dress with a cape, seeing her standing there with two dragons on her shoulders and..fire in her hand.
"W..What?" Nina stuttered at this, shaking her head
"Your mother was very gifted, unlocking her ancestors blessings. Fire was her greatest gift, her heart held a powerful spark to be reckoned with." Nina had looked at Jasper as he laid in awe of her mother's painting.
"I am curious of something, Jasper." Nina spoke breaking the gaze of Jasper, he looked at her with soft eyes.
"Yes my queen?" Fox had taken a sit on the sofa by the desk looking through some papers.
"Where are the females? Female dragons I mean." Fox stopped going through the papers, Jaspers body had stiffened out for a second the relaxed. Jasper took Nina's hand and guided her to the sofa were she sat looking up at Jasper, he leaned back on the desk.
"Since dragons live a long time the need for females is useless to say. There was at one point in our time females did exist.."
"And why not now?" Nina interrupting Jasper arching her thin brow, Jasper looked at Fox who gently shook his head.
"The reason they don't exist anymore is.. Your mother wiped them out in her early years of rein." Nina blinked shocked, the same woman that her father talked so highly of, described her a gentle hearted person who rarely got angry or hurt a fly.. Wiped out female dragons?
"Why?" Nina leaned back to the sofa, trying to understand.
"Some of the females didn't agree with your mother's requests or rules for the realms they wanted to overrule her, but when the females didn't get the vote they wanted from us, the males. The females assumed your mother was in relationships with each one of us and had corrupted us to vote against them." Jasper crossed his arms over his bold chest looking down at Nina.
"That doesn't really explain how they got wiped out Jasper."
"Your mother killed them over the assumptions, she has that power to give and take it in the Dragon Realm, and once you get your training along with unlocking blessings that were put to the side, you too could do those things and more."
"I can kill you guys?!" Nina stood in pure anger and disbelief, Jasper stood up straight.
"My queen, it's only if you have to not because you feel like it." Nina seemed to calm down nodding slightly, looking at Fox then back at Jasper.
"How old are you guys anyways?" Fox froze so did Jasper, looking at each other considering telling her.
"Well?" Nina asked in a slight pushy tone
"I'm five hundred thirty-nine years old" Jasper spoke getting Nina's attention.
"I'm sorry how old?" Darting to Fox "And you?" Fox stood, fixing his shirt looking at Nina.
"I'm eight hundred sixty-one years old." Nina stuttered for a second then all went blank.
