Ch 4

Gabriella

Arriving at the hotel was other worldly. Living near the water in California had nothing on these views of the mountains and crystal-clear water.  My parents rented us a private ocean front cottage at the Royal Lahaina Resort. Luckily my father didn’t make our warriors Jaxon and Neil to stay with us in our cottage, they had their own room in the tower behind us, to give them their own privacy. Something I was grateful for, especially since neither of them had met their mates. It would be a nightmare if they were staying with us, especially if they invited guests back to the room for a little fun. 

I sense Sarah approaching, before she joins me on the couch.

“Hello …. Earth to Gabs! I was asking what room you want? What had you so deep in thought that you couldn’t even hear your second in command?”

I shake my head at Sarah, always a flare for the dramatic. “Just thankful my parents didn’t make Jaxon and Neil bunk with us. I mean there are two bedrooms, so you and I could share a bed, but the boys would have to share a bed too, which I’m sure they would be less than thrilled.”

Sarah shudders at the thought, “Haha, knowing those two man wh0res that would be difficult…. I mean, where would they bring girls back to?”

“That’s exactly what I was thinking.”

“Well luckily that’s not something that we’ll need to worry about. Alpha and Luna got them their own room, in the main tower of the hotel.”

“Yeah, and with our luck my parents will make one of them sit outside our cottage as we sleep.”

“Gabs, you make your parents sound like they are awful people for just trying to keep the future of our pack safe.”

I know she’s right, my parents are just looking out for us, but this is something that I’ve wrestled with for the last few years. If I were a male, would they be doing the same thing? Would warriors have kept tabs on me while I was away at school, or on vacation?  I don’t remember them ever sending warriors with Rob if his beta was accompanying him. I need to change the subject. “So what do you want to do today?”

“Well I think we should explore!”

I laugh at my best friend, “Well, future beta, where would you like to go explore?”

“I was looking and there are some tours we could do, like a waterfall and rainforest hike, or go whale watching with snorkeling. Actually, I would like to do both. After all, we will be here for two weeks. If we go to the rainforest hike tour, we could scope out some areas where we could go back and let our wolves out.”

I feel Penny stir in my mind, and sigh with approval. “Ok sounds good, set up the tour.”

Sarah practically leaps up, and looks at me, “Ok, I put your stuff in the larger room, since both have ocean views, and open up to the patio outside.”

“Thanks.”

“I’m going to tell the guys what we’re planning. I’m sure both will be interested, especially if parts of the rainforest will give us good cover.”

“Ok, I’ll go get ready.”

I can’t wait to explore this beautiful place, as I take in the view right outside my window.

“I can’t wait until we can shift, and I can stretch my legs.”

“I know Cricket! You will I promise.”

I walk to my room to change into my bathing suit and hiking shoes. I mind link Gabby to make sure she packs sandals, a towel, and change of clothes in case we go swimming in the waterfalls. I mind link Neil and Jaxon, and tell them the plan, which I knew they would be down for especially since the tour I booked provides a late lunch.  

Right before I walk out of my room, everything goes black, I am transported in front of Cricket. “Cricket, what the hell?”

“It wasn’t me.”

I look at my wolf confused. And I hear the angelic voice, “Don’t be upset with your wolf, it was me who pulled you here. I needed to speak with you.”

“Moon Goddess,” Cricket and I say together as we both bow.

“Yes my children, I came to tell you that on this trip, more revelations will come to Gabriella. She will be confused, and it is up to the two of you to guide her. Cricket you will help guide Penny when she gains the full potential of her powers.”

“But my Goddess, Gabby and Penny do not know about us.”

“Don’t fret Cricket, once they unlock their full potential, they will recognize you both as gifted. Be alert, something is on the horizon”

Before I can ask Selene if she could give me more information, I am back in the hotel room, with my bag in my hand.  

“Well, that was interesting.” I laughed at my wolf in agreement. She couldn’t be more right. But until the time comes, the warriors and I will be sure to look for any danger possibly lurking around the corner.  I open my link to our group to let they boys know to meet us out at the car to head out for our tour.
