Alpha queen

It was a beautiful sunny day about mid July, I was only 8 years old at the time and decided to sneak away from the pack house, to go to my favorite spot with my best friend Adeline. We hadn't yet come into our wolfs and wouldn't until we turned 16 then we would find our mates. We ran through the huge redwood trees that surrounded the huge pack house that reminded me of a castle in all the fairytales I used to read, my dad being the Alpha that he was used to tell me not to believe everything I read in fairytales because they aren't real, But I loved day dreaming about the day I would find my mate, I could see my future all laid out, my older brother Alex who would be turning 16 in a month would take over as Alpha of the pack, I however would leave, crystal moon pack to join with my mates pack. Of course I was day dreaming as we were running to our favorite crystal clear pond where me and Adeline would go swimming and ran straight into a redwood tree. "Ow" was all Adeline heard as I fell back on my butt. Adeline turned around and ran back to where I landed on my butt laughing at me,  "Where you daydreaming again kira?" Adeline said with a thundering laughter that was contagious. "yeah, I know I know, it leads to trouble but I can't help it." I said in reply unable to help but laughing right along with my best friend. Suddenly her laughter stopped and she looked up. Adeline had a panicked look on her face, "kira there's smoke coming from the pack house some thing is really wrong." Adeline said as she started to run back towards the pack house, I got up and started to rush after her. "Adeline slow down wait for me" I yelled after her only to trip over a tree root and scraping the crap out of my knee, My head landed on a rock, knocking me out as it was my temple that I hit when I landed, the last thing I remember was seeing my best friends silhouette as she disappeared toward the pack house, and a voice calling out to me.      When finally woke up my mother the Luna of our pack was next to me crying, begging me to wake up. " m......mom" I said slowly, she looked up at me before hugging me tightly, " oh my thank god your awake kira, I couldn't bare it if I lost anyone else." I looked at my mom confused for a minute before I realized someone must of died. "what happened mom?"  I asked frantically, My mom hung her head as more sobs and tears escaped her before she finally said something " we were attacked by rouges, we lost so many of our pack members, your father our alpha is gone, he was ambushed, your brother tried to help and we lost him as well, you've been laying here for about a day or so,, we found you unconscious near your favorite pond, it looked like you where knocked out. " my mom said before breaking down into more sobs. I was in shock, how could my father, One of the strongest Alpha's be taken down by a bunch of smelly rouges. i thought to myself, and my brother is also gone, who will I play games with, who will be our Alpha if they are gone. I looked up at my mother dreading the answer of what I was about to ask, " Mom what are we going to do now, how many pack members did we lose? Mom what happened to Adeline  is she ok?" My mom choked on another sob before looking up to meet my eyes, she took a deep breath and leaned back against her chair, " we lost all but a handful of our pack members, Adeline was one of them, we took such a significant hit will will be merging with your uncles pack for the time being, some of our pack are going to their own relatives houses, but our pack is gone my love. "  as the reality of what's happened sank in, i burst out in tears, my mom holding me as I sob uncontrollably. The last thing I remember from that day was my moms warm arms around me.
