Branwyn sat in the ballroom, a few of the others were still make plans and talking among themselves. She was waiting for Prince Aeryn, she had not seen him since dinner. Her plan was to get him alone and back to her room again. She would wait here all night if she had to.
Branwyn's eyes lite up as Prince Aeryn walked across the room deep in conversation with Randir. Her eyes followed as that sat down together and continued their discussion. Branwyn quickly spotted the look of worry on Aeryn's face.
Branwyn also noted the absence of a certain b***h. She had noticed a pattern that of the Prince alone in the early hours of the morning. Branwyn had been told that half elves required much more sleep than an elf. Branwyn sleep hardly ever unless she extended to much energy, usually casting difficult spell.
Branwyn was an accomplished wizard, magic was natural for her, as it was many of her kind. Her abilities surpassed many of elves she knew.
She watched the Prince and Randir continue their conversation. Aeryn's face showing his displeasure. Branwyn stood up from her chair walking over to the pair still deep in discussion.
"You can't keep pushing her" Randir scolding Prince Aeryn.
"I know that, I...I just." Aeryn hanging his head.
"I get it, it sucks" Randir replied
"Don't forget that thing tomorrow" Aeryn said looking up.
"I got it covered" Randir answered stand up from his seat.
"What's tomorrow?" Branwyn interrupted
Both Prince Aeryn and Randir looked at her then looked at each other.
"There is a party at the Mayor's house for us tonight." Randir answered
"Please excuse me, I have things to take care of." Randir said as turned and walked away.
"A party, that sounds fun" Branwyn chimed beaming a smile.
"Branwyn, would you like to go to the Mayor's party." Prince Aeryn asked with a half smile, worry still on his face.
"I would love to!"Branwyn squealed nearly fall out of her chair.
"Great, invite two of your friends." Aeryn replied adding "My invitation is for six."
Aeryn stood up and walked out of the ballroom. Branwyn sat in her chair for a minute, maybe two, her head spinning from excitement.
"I have to get ready," She thought to herself as she jumped form her chair and out of the ballroom.
She made her way to the third floor stopping at the first door on the right. She need to invite two people and brag.
She would invite Malenetha, the only person she would consider a friend, even if she was the competition. Branwyn knocked on the door.
A tall slender golden hair woman with sparkling blue eyes opened the door smiling when she seen Branwyn.
"Branwyn, what can I do for you." Malenetha asked motioning for her to come in.
"Prince Aeryn asked me to be his date for the Mayor's party this evening." She brag a wide smile across her face.
"Oh, that is great" Malenetha replied with a little disappointed in her voice.
"I get to bring two people, so I don't get board while he meets with people" Branwyn chimed "Will you come?"
"Absolutely, it will be fun." Malenetha answer with excitement.
"Bring someone else" Branwyn called leaving the room and rushing to her own.
Branwyn entered her room and started running her bath. She wished she had brought a servant, she hated doing trivial things.
"Well, at least they have in door water." She said out loud.
Branwyn had brought several dresses for the parties and balls she would surely be attending. She had three that she thought would suit her well. She choose the royal blue one, with silver beads around the neckline that matched her hair. She decided she would wear her hair up.
She walked over to the tub tested the water with her hand. The water temperature was perfect. Branwyn striped and stepped in the tub. She relaxed in the warm water and let her mind wander.
Branwyn couldn't believe her luck. She was going to be Prince Aeryn's date for the first party while they were here. That was a great sign, she would probably be his date for everything thing. Her father would be pleased when he found out. She was happy with how everything was turning out.
Someone knocked on her door snapping her to reality. Branwyn got of the tub and wrapped a towel around herself and answered the door.
"Pardon me, My Lady" a young woman dressed in the staff uniform said.
"I am here to help you get ready for the party." She added
Branwyn stepped out the way allowing the young woman in, and closing the door behind her. She showed the woman the dress she was going to wear, and the matching jewelry she had chosen, and explained how she wanted to wear her hair.
Branwyn sat down in a chair and the woman got to work quickly brushing her silver hair that flowed down her back to her waist. After brushing her hair she curled and pinned to her head. Once done with her hair, she spplied Branwyn's make up. Last, she help Branwyn in to here dress.
Branwyn stared at her reflection in the mirror. Checking her hair and make up.
"Perfect" Branwyn told herself aloud.
Branwyn picked up her favorite perfume and spritzed herself. She like smell of jasmine, she hoped the Prince did to. She did one quick check in the mirror again and walked out of her room to meet Prince Aeryn.
She waited in the main entrance with Malenetha. Malenetha invited another elven woman, but Branwyn couldn't remember her name.
Prince Aeryn and Randir came down the stairs and joined the woman. Aeryn was in a dark grey suit with his long blonde hair pulled back. Randir was in a black suit with ravens black hair also pulled back.
"I wonder who else is coming" Malenetha remarked
"Probably another guard." Branwyn answer
The two men suddenly look to the top of the stairs both with look of awe on their faces. The woman followed their gaze to the top of the stairs. Branwyn blood ran hot and she began to boil as she watch that half bred b***h come down the stairs dress in a dark green dress. When she got to the end of the stairs Aeryn offered her his hand and lead he to the carriage that awaited them.
Malenetha made a enquiring face at Branwyn as the follow the Prince and Randir helped them into the carriage.
