I barely had time to turn when I heard a gunshot.
The sound ripped through the room, “Ahhhhhhgg!”
The man on top of me jerked violently, his body going stiff before collapsing halfway over me. Blood spread quickly from his thigh, soaking into his trousers as he howled in pain.
For a second… I couldn’t breathe.
My mouth fell open, but no sound came out.
