Teenage limbo

I had just gotten into my senior secondary school year two and as it is i was eligible to join the most prestigious girls group in the school... 'The Grand Glamours Girls' is the largest group that has ever existed in the school,it is a group for the rich and famous kids in the school and has been the dream of every other girl in the school to be a member. As for me, I had not only wished to be a grand girl, I had played the part and made myself live in it. I had black curly hair falling slightly behind my back ,my dark skin that depicted the nature of the african race,eyes that sparkled and having the curves I inherited from my mother. I sure looked older and prettier than the regular seventeen year old girls. plangnan the G.G.girls president is an egoistic spoiled daddy's girl .she is a petite girl, very fair in complexion, has short hair which she trims leaving it a low cut . She is what you will describe as the real life Regina ,from mean girls. her father being the commissioner of education and having her back drove her to become more meaner... Kids are scared of her and staff too , as with the snap of her finger you would be expelled or suspended.with the influence of her father and the parents of other club members the GGgirls got everything they wanted from the best uniforms to the best of food,hostel rooms, and even events. everyone considered the GGgirls goddess and anyone that a member of the club would cast a smile on would be considered extremely lucky... so you can imagine my extreme surprise when I got into my room and found a neatly placed card on my bed. The card looked elegant as it was gold like in color and had glitter engraved written on it was their name G.G.girls boldly stylishly written on it . I had stood there staring at the card for what seemed like hours but was merely seconds. With so much commotion in the background it was hard for my thoughts to linger as reality gradually dawned on me .Stepping outside my room to see what all the noise in the hostel was for I saw my best friend running. She obviously looked like someone who had been running and screaming for a while... What's all this commotion about? I questioned sekyen short of breath tired saying things i could not understand so i asked her to take a breath then speak which she did … Sekyens POV Babes guess what !! Ha guess again me i cant guess oo tell me what's up? Babes the principal has finally set the date for the reunion service ... O.M.G.... yes babes the reunion will be starting next week this is.... i was cut short in my words as i realized i would be meeting the previous Queens and this time not just as a student but as a Queen… After all the excitement and commotion I had finally had time to read the invitation properly. I had been invited for an exclusive meeting of the club to take place at the lab and this only meant one thing... It was difficult to go through the school routine successfully without thinking about tonight's prebs and what was going to happen. Many rumors had circulated that the first meeting of the club for new members were always rituals where the girls would be requested to strip naked and take some vows. It was crazy and with such Creepy stuff making the rounds I could not help but let my mind run wild. it was finally time for night prebs so i picked my best blue cheek and white hair tie that was mandatory for every female student , picked my blue jacket and headed for the gate where i meet sekyen waiting for me . I had told seksyen about the invitation and she was practically more excited than i was at a point i felt i could touch her excitement. The walk to the lab felt like the longest work I had ever embarked on in all my life as my mind went faster than my legs could carry me … At the lab i had meet with Jennifer, faith and Tapmun all daughters of rich and influential men and that made me uncomfortable i had always wondered why the Grand girls picked me because for one i was not from a rich family my dad was a nurse at the juth medical hospital and my mom was a primary school teacher and according to that standard i had no right to be among the grand girls but here i was at a meeting with the grand girls It took about thirty minutes before plangnan and the other grand girls arrived . after every one had settled down plangnan addressed us and told us it was an honor for us to be members of the prestigious club after the welcoming address drinks were sheared and plangnan spoke about the fourth coming reunion and how everything had to be perfect to welcome our predecessors and the events marked out for the reunion it was no news that the grand girls did there things differently and with style... shola!... i was certain that was plangnans voice but to be sure my mind was not playing tricks on me i remained silent ' Hy'! she snapped her fingers pulling me out of my trance. are you deef or something can't you hear me calling you ... 'I'm so sorry , oh my God , you're actually talking to me , I have been dying to...' she raised her left hand up , indicating I should stop talking. embarrassed at the way I was worshipping, I bowed my head as my cheeks flushed red . Plangnan pov ' You look like a grand girl, you act like a grand girl but you surely do not speak like a grand girl' she said, looking at me from top to bottom analyzing what she was seeing , while dragging the but . ' You will be good for the group. All you need is a little more polishing ' she said, making my eyes widen as i had just been officially announced as the newest member of the GGgirls. I could not contain my excitement as I jumped up and down as all my dreams were being fulfilled boundlessly. me being a GGgirl meant more connections and as it was and will always be our forebears always made sure the GG girls attended every happening event in town .
