Chapter 29Garrett sat on the couch, clicking through channels on the television, not really looking for anything. It was almost eight P.M. the following Sunday and he was waiting for the washing machine to finish, so he could throw his work clothes into the dryer and head to bed. He needed to catch up on some Z’s. The band was off the next day, so Garrett and Jase made plans to meet in the late afternoon. Garrett wanted to avoid falling asleep like he’d done the last time he and Jase had gotten together. And the only way to ensure that was to get to sleep early. In case that wasn’t enough, Monday was calling for heavy rain around noon, which would allow Garret to call off work early and head home to take a nap if needed. Garrett laughed at himself. How had catnaps become his new normal?
