Chapter Thirty-Two

212 Words
Serena turned to her closet and began rummaging for a suitable replacement, tossing out what had practically become her daily uniform – plaid shirt and jeans. Why are you taking so long to decide on what to wear? Sasha asked as she grew impatient waiting on Serena to get ready. She was eager to see the rest of the pack. Hopefully, before the end of the night, they’d all go for a run and she’d finally get a chance to stretch her legs. I’m trying to find something to wear. I have nothing suitable. Serena lamented. Looks like you’ve gone through half your clothes already, princess. I doubt you’ll find anything better at the bottom of the closet. What’s the big deal anyway? You’ll be meeting what will most likely be a bunch of low maintenance wolves, judging by how laid back the alpha is. Serena pulled her head out of the closet and took a deep breath. There was no point in arguing with her wolf. Sasha would never understand. She was an alpha wolf and always exhibited confidence. Nothing could ever faze her. Serena was not so fortunate. She worried… she worried a lot. Stop talking to me, I need to concentrate. Wear that cream off-shoulder blouse with your light blue ripped jeans and pair it with the suede ankle boots. There done. Decision made. How hard was that? Sasha huffed. Serena crossed her arms over her chest and leaned against her dresser giving careful consideration to her wolf’s suggestion. After a while, she shook her head and turned around again to grab the suggested items. It was actually a great suggestion – the colour combination would pair well with her complexion and the blouse would give her the soft feminine look she was going for. But she was reluctant to thank Sasha. The wolf was already too full of herself. Serena pulled on the clothing and did her best to ignore her annoying wolf, who was quietly growling for her to hurry up. I don’t know what the big deal is. This isn’t like you at all. What’s going on? Sasha questioned, completely ignoring the silent treatment Serena was attempting to give her. Serena shrugged. We are being introduced to the pack tonight. Don’t you want me to look my best? To make a good first impression? Sasha scoffed. I always look great. My fur is thick and fabulous. Serena rolled her eyes and did her best to ignore her pompous wolf, but she could feel Sasha scrutinizing her trying to figure out what was really going on. There’s something more going on here. I don’t know what it is, but I’ll figure it out eventually. We are two parts of a whole so you won’t be able to hide it from me for long. Sasha promised. Serena shook her head. You’re like a dog with a bone. Let it go. I resent that statement. Never compare me to a dog again. Offended, Sasha huffed and retreated.
