Serena sniffed back tears that were threatening to escape. She hadn’t cried in years and she wasn’t about to start now. She was however emotionally overwhelmed by the warmth extended to her by her new alpha. The last time anyone had shown genuine concern for her was when she was a teenager living with her grandmother. She’d been alone for so long, with only the companionship of her wolf, she forgot what it felt like to have someone else in her life interested in her wellbeing. Hearing herself being called a pack member affected her on such a deep level she would forever be grateful to the Silver Lake pack and its alpha.
