Chapter 6.

1380 Words
Isaac POV.    It felt good to sleep all night for the first time in a very long time. I missed her skin, missed her body pressed against my own and last night was a blessing.  She doesn’t want to be with me because she doesn’t trust me and that crushes me. How she cannot trust me, baffles me. I think that she doesn’t trust herself and the extent of what she feels for me. I know this, because I felt the same, when coming to terms with the extent of what I felt for her.  I spent countless nights in the past year, wondering how I could love her so much.  After getting out of the shower and heading back to my room, I was a little disappointed to find that Alison wasn’t there anymore.  I got dressed quickly and went out getting myself a coffee before work and grabbing another for my mentor.  “Good morning, Richard,” I said, walking into the pharmacy.  “Good morning, Mr Trenton,” he responds to me.  I hand him his coffee and watch as he writes down something in a notebook.  “Thank you, Mr Trenton,” he says, as he takes a sip of his coffee.  Richard was my mentor, working at the pharmaceutical lab. Together we’re currently developing chemical formulations of different drugs that improve health in different ways. He’s a tall man, only slightly shorter with me with thinning grey hair and rectangle shaped glasses. With his white coat and tie, short and slack pants underneath, he was the stereotypical idea of a scientist which always made me laugh.  “I’ve written your report,” Richard says.  “Thank you,” I say. I was finally finishing my degree, my internship finally coming to an end.  “Have you come up with a research project?” I ask him.  “Not yet,” he says. Sitting down on the seat in front of me. “Have you got any ideas?”  “Could do drug delivery to the brain and how it affects the interactions of the blood-brain barrier with nanoparticles,” I said taking a sip of my coffee.  “That is an interesting area,” he says, and I chuckle.  “So, what’s on the agenda today, Sir,” I say, and I listen as he guides me through todays research.  After work, I went straight home, already looking for Alison’s car in the parking lot, but the time told me that she was already at work. When I got inside, I went to the kitchen, making myself a sandwich.  “Hey!” Burney says, as he enters into the kitchen.  “Hi,” I respond.  “Are you okay?” he says.  “Yeah.” I look between him and the sandwich in front of me. “Why?”  He seemed awkward in front of me, shifting his weight from foot to foot.  “I could hear you last night,” he says, looking away. “Anything you want to talk about?” he asks.  I shake my head. “I’m fine,” he says.  “Well, let me know if that changes,” he says with a small smile and I finish my sandwich as I watch him head back to his room.  The nightmares came back when Alison left, and they haven’t left since. I had always had them, but now I was becoming more aware that I was making noise because of them. Last night I was kind of thankful for the noise I made, because it meant that I could hold her close to me… if only it was for one night.  I rest on the couch, turning my head to watch a documentary but soon I drift off.  I dreamt of being younger, but being on the streets, having a small bag in my hand.  Of course, it wasn’t long until my dreams were plagued with nightmares, when I woke up on the couch panting, my body covered in a layer of sweat.  Fuck, I needed Ali with me. I needed her now.  Looking at my watch, it was a little past twelve.  I needed to see her now and needed to go to her now.  I got off of the couch and went straight to my car, driving to the Red.  I hated how much she affects me. How the smell of her alone, makes my day. The feel of her body made me calm and her gaze made me steady.  When I parked my car and stood in a small line at the front of the Red, I showed the security guard my idea and went through the entrance.  Already my eyes drifted to her, she was behind the bar, shaking a drink. God, she was beautiful. As she turned, shaking the drink, her delicious breasts shook, and my c**k twitched in my jeans. I needed to calm myself down.  I went straight to the small bar and ordered a drink of a woman with bleached blonde hair. She looked at me with wide eyes like deer.  “Here you go, honey,” she says with a seductive voice and I chuckle.  Don’t even bother trying, love. My heart, body, and soul will forever be taken.  I look up again to look at her and I smile as she laughs from Maddie.  How desperately I wish for the music to be turned down, everyone to leave and for us two to be alone so I could hear that laugh on repeat.  “I’m Mia,” she says.  Her and the other woman who work the small bar always reminded me of Ying and Yang. This one had bright almost white hair and the other had black. Both of their hair was long and straight.  I smile at her briefly as I sip my drink.  “Are you waiting for someone?” she asks, still imploring me with the questions.  “Yes,” I say shortly, wishing she would go away. She must have registered the tone in my voice because she walks away from the bar and leaving me in peace. I drain the rest of the drink, leaving the glass on the counter and asked for a top up, soon finishing that drink after.  When I looked up again to see Alison, she wasn’t there, so I began looking around the room.  She was gone.  I left my glass on the counter, moving amongst the crowd to find her.  As I walked closer towards the large bar, I stopped dead in my tracks when my eyes finally found her.  She was swaying her hips seductively on the edge of the dance floor.  She was honestly stunning.  She tossed her head back and was laughing and it was like watching a slow motion movie.  She wore a black dress that clung to every dip in her body. She’s all curving hips, small waist and perfect t**s, and to top it off she had on her marron thigh high boots that made her legs go on for days.  Fuck. The way she moves her hips… I wish they were pressed against me.  Out of nowhere, a guy appears, and it’s only now that I realise, he’s the one making her laugh.  Get your f*****g hands off of her.  He pulls her closer and he’s pressed against her and they’re dancing, grinding up against each other.  I walk faster, cursing at people in front of me who stop moving.  They step back away from each other and I watch in a daze as he twirls her, making her laugh.  Stop making her laugh.  Get your hands off of my girl.  He was basking in her light, his eyes ignited on her.  I had enough. This needed to end.  I take another step forward and almost instinctively she looks up and meets my gaze.  She says something to her dance partner, and he smiles at her and she walks the opposite way from me, and I follow after her.
