Kaden held Luke's driver's license tightly in his hand. He knew that when the police officer arrived to check, a quick scan of the flashlight would reveal his wanted face.
As the officer approached, the car door suddenly swung open. Kaden's eyes widened in shock. "It's you!?"
It was Evelyn, the woman who had given him a ride before!
Evelyn greeted him with a bright smile, clearly amused by his surprise. "Hey, what a coincidence running into you here! I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me!"
Kaden didn't have time to explain or figure out where she had come from. His priority was to escape. Leaning towards her, he urgently asked, "Hey, can you do me a favor?"
