His Manly Perfume

1595 Words
Amara’s POV I pushed him away, but the more I pushed him away, the more he wanted to pull me in so close to him. I could smell his perfume lingering in my nose, made me sneeze all of a sudden, and another sneezed until he let go of me, gave me a tissue, and said softly with amusement written on his face, “God bless you,” I shook my head, and sneezed again, “It’s your perfume.” “What….” he smelled himself in front of me, and said, “What’s wrong with my perfume? It’s the latest edition of men's perfume.” "I…I don't like it." we both stare at each other, and I close my eyes tightly and say, "What I mean, It's too strong, and the smell is not so strong… it's kind of an alcoholic vibe." Perhaps I had offended him deeply for the first time, for his eyes widened, and he removed his shirt, revealing a set of abs and a physique that made me gulp nervously. I quickly stepped back in fear and asked, "What are you doing?" He smiled at me mischievously, “You like what you see?” I bit my lower lip, and swallowed hard before saying, “Huh?” He warmly smiled at me, “Take a seat….” Then he opened his drawer and grabbed three sets of perfume, displayed it in front of me, and said, “Choose what you like….for me.” “Huh? Why would I do that?” I asked innocently. “So that when you’re near to me, you won’t sneeze anymore,” he said softly and walked to his long black closet in the corner, took a long white sleeve, and buttoned it up with his scary magnetic eyes that kept staring at me the whole time. I lowered my head, tried to smell the first perfume, and sneezed again. “Damn…” I cursed lightly. He heard me and laughed softly. “Okay, this one is bad. Check the other two perfumes left perfume,” he said. I put my hair back on my earlobe after I smelled the last one. It’s a mild manly scent and I like it a lot, but I don’t understand why he wants me to choose a perfume for him. I sighed softly and stood up, and he asked, “So you like this one?” I nodded my head, and said, “I really need to go, probably my mom is already waiting for me.” He leaned forward, and smiled, “Why are you scared of her?” “I’m not….I’m not scared.” I said hesitantly. “Then call her and tell her you’re with me right now,” he demanded in a calm voice, and it gave chills to my spine. I licked my lower lip in nervousness because my lips felt so dry this time, especially because the aircon was too cold for me, and the way he looked at me made my heart jump in pulse every time. “Let me go, Parker,” I whispered when he came too close to me and tilted his head to look clearly at my face. I put my hand on his chest and pushed him gently. “I really need to go, don’t try me.” “What? I’m not doing anything.” I was about to leave but the door opened, and a man with a black suit had just come in. He stared at me from head to toe, and asked Parker, “I didn’t imagine that you’re a young woman right now, Parker.” “Shut up, Chris,” Parker said, and he grabbed the back of my arm and put me behind him. “What are you doing here?” he asked the man named Chris. Chris answered, “Well, I’m here to discuss with you a few things about our upcoming business. But we can’t discuss it in front of this sweet, innocent woman.” I frowned at Chris when his stare traveled to my legs, up to my thigh, and then stopped at my chest. I put my hand on my chest and urged myself to walk away, but Chris said, “What’s your name?” Parker exhaled softly as he glanced at his friend, and said, “Just leave her alone.” “And why not? She looked fantastic, man.” Parker’s jaw clenched and said in a stern voice, “You can’t disrespect her like that. She’s not one of my women.” Chris' mouth dropped and glanced at me, “Oh, sorry about that. I just want to ask her name. What’s your name, sweet?” I gulped softly, and answered, “Amara.” “I love your name! Well, nice to meet you, Amara.” Chris walked toward me and extended his hand, and I was hesitant to shake hands with him. From the way he looked, he seemed like he was also a maniac and a f*cking p*****t. I took a quick look at Parker, who was staring at me with wandering eyes, and so I decided to ignore Chris and left Parker’s office. As I walked outside, I saw my mom outside in the lobby, and she was sitting like she had been waiting for Parker the whole time. Her eyes widened when she saw me, and I stopped walking, and then she stood up, and walked slowly towards me. “Why are you here?” I gulped nervously, “Uhm, I left my phone in Parker’s car.” “You left your phone in Parker’s car, so what are you doing in his car?” she said bitterly. I explained calmly, “Listen, Parker visited Miss Nancy’s shop. He went there, had a coffee, and then….” “And then what?” "Then he went and got another coffee for his friends. I slipped my phone into his car accidentally while delivering the coffee, which is why I'm here to get it back. Yeah, there it is!" I told her as I showed her my phone. My mom nodded her head and sighed. “I have been waiting for him for like half an hour, but they said I need to have an appointment if I want to see him, but how could you enter his office without an appointment?” “Because of my phone, he already knew that I had left my phone in his car, so I walked upstairs, and took it back.” I plastered a nervous laugh to sound convincing. “Well, I’m here to ask him for more funds. If he really wants to marry me, he needs to fund me. Duh!” she said while rolling her eyes. “What?” She raised an eyebrow, “You heard me, right?” then continued, “Well, he won’t fulfill his dad's dying wish if he doesn’t give me a penny. Damn, I lost three rounds at the Casino today. By the way, do you have money? Did Miss Nancy pay you daily?” Suddenly, I felt terrible about how my mom was acting because she was only thinking about money. "No, she will pay me every week, but I'm putting that money toward the mortgage." "Dang it, Parker shouldn't be able to take you and me to his mansion? That way you won't have to worry about paying that mortgage and you can give me some money. Even though you work hard, you still don't have enough money. What the heck!" “Why don’t you find a job?” “Shut the f*ck up!” I have nothing more to say because my mom's words have killed me. I slightly lowered my head in shame because two women were listening in on our talk and looked at us with disgusted faces. A few minutes later, Parker came out of his office with his p*****t friend, Chris. Then Parker’s eyes landed on me, then on my mother. Chris said, “Wanna come with me tonight, Amara? I heard that you work as a waitress. I can offer you a job in my new club in the city.” Wait, how did he know that? Uh, from Parker. I glared at Parker, smiled sarcastically at Chris, and answered, “Sorry, but I won’t take your offer.” My mother was not happy with my attitude towards the man, “Amara—” I cut her off and told Chris, "Oh, my mom doesn't have a job right now. She can work for you." Parker then gave me a proud smirk, and I left them, almost losing my temper. Then I heard Chris laugh softly, "Oh my goodness! Are you Amara's mother?!" "Amara! come back here!" I could hear my mom calling my name, but I couldn't do what she wanted me to do, it was so tiring doing what she wanted. Damn, she's been abusing me for years to get money from my late grandfather, and while I was at home, screaming from hunger, she spent the money on useless things. I wiped my tears away and took a cab to go back to the pastry shop. Later, I got a text message from an unknown number that said, "I like the way you acted back there." Reading it made my hand shake, and then, in the last sentence, it said, "Just thinking about you is driving me crazy, and I need to see you again." And who the heck got my number? Yeah, it was Parker...again!
