Amara’s POV “Amara, I saw you talking to that guy. Do you know him?” Miss Nancy asked. I was at a loss for words, and she said, "Well, I know that guy. He runs the EL Grand Hotel, so I don't get why he's here. Is he interested in you? Oh my god, you're too young for him. He will only play with your heart, and you know he will not take you seriously, because rich men don't do that to a girl." I scratched the back of my neck, and said shyly, “Uh, no. Uhm….that’s not what you think. He’s marrying my mom.” Miss Nancy was shocked, and she laughed, “What? Are you serious? How could your mom persuade a man five years younger than her to marry her?” I nodded my head, and said, “Well, I don’t know. But Miss Nancy, do you know where the EL Grand Hotel is?” "Oh, okay. I'll write down the address for you. you know, It's really hard to say." She smiled at me and gave me a piece of paper with the hotel's address on it. “Thank you, Miss Nancy.” “Why do you need to go there?” she asked curiously. “I left my phone in his car, and I’ll go there to find him.” I said in a hurry, and grabbed my little bag, and walked outside looking for a cab. As I walked into the hotel, all the memories of the other night made my blood rush to my face. It was so embarrassing to think that I had kissed my mother's fiancé! Gosh! This is so wrong! I walked inside the lobby, and the security guard stopped me. “Miss, where are you going?” “Don’t worry, this won’t take so long.” He nodded his head, and he let me in. I walked to the reception table, and asked, “Miss, Is Mister uhm ... .Parker here?” She arched her eyebrows, and said, “Do you mean Mr. Parker Gallagher?” I nodded my head, “Yeah, is he here?” “Yes, but he has a meeting inside the conference room. Do you have an appointment?” I shook my head, and begged, “No, but please can you call him? It’s urgent. I left my phone in his car.” She sighed, “Oh, sorry. I can’t do that if you don’t have an appointment.” I bit my lower lip, and stepped back, “Fine.” Then I was about to walk outside when someone called my name, “Miss Amara, are you looking for Sir Parker, right?” I smiled as I turned around, and said, “Yes.” “This way please.” the woman said, and she led me to the top floor. I was so scared as I walked alone down the hall because I hadn't heard anyone on that floor. Parker seemed to own this floor just for him. When I knocked, he said, "Come in. It's open." I opened the door and closed it again. When I turned around, I saw his nice office nestled in this building. In any part of the world, a large couch with a beautiful view would be considered a dream come true. He walked towards me while adjusting his necktie, “Are you looking for this?” He showed me my phone. I stepped closer and grabbed my phone, opened it, and scrolled through the screen. “Oh yeah, this is mine. I gotta go.” He grabbed the back of my arm, and pulled me closer to him, “Not so fast, honey.” “W—What do you want?” I stammered. “Do you know that I canceled my meeting for you? And all you have to do is to leave me after you get what you want?” I looked at him in the eyes, and asked softly, “Then what do you want?” He whispered in my ear, "I WANT YOU, AMARA."
