"Don't push me like that Ash" said Ethan as he was closing the bathroom door. His silky hair was dripping water and his eyes sparkled as if he was gonna let tears roll down any moment. He had told his girlfriend that he wanted them to grow old together, but seems like fate had something different in store for them. Ethan had made a first move on Ashley when they were in college, he was his first love and he had a dream life in-store for the both of them, he had made countless promises to Ashley and everything was mutual between them. You thinking college love is just infatuation right? Maybe you right, because after college, things between the two started taking a new turn. If you are thinking that maybe their love bloomed as time went on then you probably running ahead in the wrong route. It all started on a random Tuesday,"I'm running late princess i gotta go otherwise I'm gonna be late for work", said Ethan as he climbed off the bed and went to the bathroom to take a quick shower. Few moments later there he was, putting on a blazer. He looked exactly like a character from a dark romance movie. His blazer was all shiny, as well as his shoes. He turned to face his girlfriend and said "you think i look good?", "you've always looked good" said Ashley as she approached him to fix his collar. Ethan gave his girlfriend a smirk and told her to be ready for a date night by the time he knocked off work, so he left for the office. It was dusk when Ethan pull up in his Mercedes. He parked right by the gate as if he was doing a package delivery and walked straight up to the house to fetch his girlfriend. The moment he opened the door he saw the most enticing look he never imagined he would simply raise his head to see. His girlfriend was wearing a navy blue tight dress that had white pearls, the guy was just there staring as if he fell for the secone time. "heyyy we gotta go", that's when the love maniac finally zoned back and he held Ash's hand. "You look amazing", "Thank you" said the girl as she was walking towards the car like a model. The couple started off and went to one of the famous restaurants in Atlanta. De' Maen Sut was the most booked restaurant and it was mostly busy since it had one of the best cuisines in the country, the only way to secure a spot was to book a week in advance. They arrived at the restaurant and the two was welcomed by two ladies holding bouquets, they handed the red roses to Ashley and the blue tulips to Ethan. Ethan led the way since he was familiar with the place and he took his girlfriend to the private lounge. The lounge was fully decorated as if there was a special occasion taking place, so he went ahead and directed Ashley to the couch. Right when they were about to place an order, a tall, skinny Asian looking man walked in. Ashley was charmed from a distance but she didn't wanna show it since his boyfriend was sitting right there with her, instead she kept a straight face while the guy approached. "Hi...Chen Liu, I'm the owner of the restaurant", he said while extending his hand to do a handshake with Ethan. They did a quick handshake and Ethan was wondering why the owner himself would approach them. "Oh nice to meet you Mr Chen, just call me Ethan", the two then exchanged a few words and that's when the career topic popped up. The owner wanted to know if Ethan was thinking of furthering his studies but right before he could answer, his girlfriend held Chen's hand and said "oh my God yes ...i wanna further my studies, i already have a degree in Forensics so i wanted to do the masters". Two guys were just quiet wondering why the girl suddenly intruded the conversation and that's when the girl realised what she had done. She immediately dropped her hand as she was embarrassed and apologized for holding the guys hand, and proceeded to ask why Chen was asking about furthering studies. Chen looked surprised, he was just wondering why someone would quickly answer a question that was not directed to them, that too without even asking the objective behind the question, he just let it slide since he was not up for asking too many questions . He then explained that he was also the director of one of the universities in China and he had special scholarship programmes to offer to international graduates who showed interest in Education. Ethan clearly made himself clear that he had no plans to further his studies, his life lead to a successful business and also a happily ever after between him and his girlfriend. His girlfriend acted surprised as if she wasn't expecting his boyfriend to say that, she then asked Chen for more details regarding the scholarship. Chen reached into his pocket and pulled out a business card with his contact details on it, he handed it to Ashley and told her to call him if she got the chance to. The guy finally left and that's when things started getting heated up at the table. "You never told me you wanted to further your studies, you very well know what I've planned for us but you never said anything about what you wanted to do instead, why did you embarrass me like that", he said with his teary eyes because that single moment made him question if he really knew his girlfriend. What came to his mind was the fact that he never knew his girlfriend wanted to move abroad and further her studies so he felt like a loser for not knowing much about her.
