Chapter 1: Reincarnated Inside an Forgotten Novel
Once there was a story set in a modern world called Legros, where magic and every fantasy creature one ever dreamed of existed from demons to divinity and many more.
If one was an avid reader, this story may come off as generic already.
It started with a poor twenty-one-year-old girl named Louisa Magnolia. With hair that was sunkissed by the sun. And eyes that sparkled like a clear blue pond. Her angel-like face and soft voice could soothe anyone's heart. She lived her life with her grandmother, working as a waitress in their small steak eatery. Her life was simple but she was happy and contented already.
However, one day a strange man in a black tuxedo came, claiming that she was the lost heiress of two deceased millionaires of their country.
She was forcefully brought to a grand mansion, where she met her grandfather. One of the most influential and powerful men in the world. Jonathan Demetrio. Despite nearing his seventies, his sharp blue eyes were overbearing as he gazed at his lost granddaughter.
Later, with her new rich life, Louisa found out that she was engaged with another powerful man, the male lead, the crown prince of the Empire of Clementine, Edward Kretus. Their country was just in the southern region of their empire. He had soft, neatly military raven hair and crimson eyes. He was such a gorgeous man, deserving the title of the male lead.
The two of them met, and as soon as they spent more time together, they gradually started to develop feelings for each other.
Soon Louisa found out that Edward, the prince everyone thought of as a righteous person, was also a cold and cunning person, leading the underground Black Dragon Mafia of their Empire.
Thus soon, Louisa would find herself thrust into many dangerous situations, but like every plot armor the main character had, she would be saved by Edward or the other dangerous men surrounding her.
With her kind but courageous heart, men couldn't help but be drawn to her even more. And in the last events of the story, these men,
Edward and Louisa will join forces to fight the final villain of the novel.
The leader of the number one mafia in the world of Legros, the Dark Society Mafia, Julius Agrejo. He was described as a bloodthirsty maniac. As he killed his victims and enemies alike under the moonlight, his silver hair shone dangerously, and his golden eyes glinted as if he was still looking for more prey.
An all-out war happened, and amidst it, Julius was possessed to become even more powerful, as he transformed into a Demon Lord. Many had died and lands were destroyed under his tyranny. However, in the end, the evil Julius is defeated by the main heroine, Louisa, Edward, and the other men.
He was shot by a bullet containing light magic by Edward. His last words were something like this...
"It's finally over." He muttered as his body burst with light and shattered into specks of dust.
No one knew what that meant or anyone gave much thought to it. Since he was a villain, everyone would rejoice at his end as peace in the world would slowly return now.
The story ended up with Edward and Louisa marrying each other. And soon, the phrase they live happily ever after came as they rule the empire and help the world to gain its peaceful standing from the devastating war.

The four-year-old Celene Bree opened her eyes. The childishness that was once contained in those obsidian eyes was changed by a matured gaze.
"That..." Her small, malnourished body sat up from her bed. She leaned her head on the headboard of her bed as she clutched her head, stinging with pain. The dream she had just now, included her past life. And the forgotten novel she read somewhere in that past life.
"Why now?" A scowl plastered on her face. "Why did I only remember about that? To think I will reincarnate in a novel I once read." She kept massaging her head as the pain slowly receded. When the headache calmed down, her little feet slowly went down from her bed.
Then she walked into the single, arch-shaped window of her room. "Celene Bree," she muttered her own name as she shove the white curtains of the window to the side.
"That is my name in this world huh? As far, as I remember, there is no such character in the novel." Her gaze went to the scenery outside her room. A faraway look glinted in her eyes. "I wonder, what is the name of that novel?" She tried to remember but it was to no avail. She just remember it has some legend in the beginning title but the rest was so long that she couldn't really remember. "Well, that is not important right now but at the very least, I remember the main plot."
"Then as an insignificant unknown character in the unknown novel, I should live my life in silence and avoid all the main characters, since if one would be based on the plot, this world is really dangerous with them around. Mafia, kingdom conflicts, dark magic, demon lords... That sounds like all troublesome things. Well, let them live their life and handle the problems of the world."
'But speaking of magic, though this world is set in a similar to the modern contemporary world, magic existed.' A little excitement filled Celene's heart. "Perhaps, I can use some magic, or since I reincarnated there is some might some cheat system accompanying me." Her imagination was starting to get wild from all the reincarnation novels she have read.
"System!"
"Status!"
"Ah... fireball?"
"Space Activation."
As she continue her chant and made silly poses, she grew disappointed as there was still nothing that happened. "Argh. Wind blast."
She let down her hand and sighed in disappointment. "Was it because I am just a nobody in this world? That is why I don't have any cheats with me other than remembering my past life and the plot of the novel. Well, I guess, even in the novel it mentioned that only noble blood, chosen one among peasants and even hybrids can use magic. And I'm none of those,"
While Celene lament her disappointment, her sight caught something below her window. "Hmmm..."
It was her aunt, talking with some men in black suits. Anyone with a sound mind would definitely think that something was rather suspicious.
Since Celene was three years old, she lived her life with her aunt on her father's side. Even though she lived with them and didn't receive too much attention, they never neglected her needs, well enough to live day by day.
As far as Celene remembered, almost a year had passed since then. It's strange, at one moment, she had the mind of a four-year-old toddler, but with her past life memories returning, she understand the situation she was in. She doesn't remember quite well, how old she died in her past life, however, she knew, she was already an adult at that time. And also the way she died.
She died in suffocation, as the apartment she lived in caught fire and she was trapped inside her room that was on the tenth floor of the apartment. The scorching pain of the heat, she could still feel how it crept toward her skin.
'Yeah, of all the things I don't need to remember, I remember my first life dying moments clearly.' She sighed internally.
Celene shook her head to avoid such negative thoughts. "Since I have a second chance to live once again, I can start again. That is right." Determination filled her young eyes. "Since I was a slave worker in my past life, I should strive to become rich in this life with the use of my past life memories. Many reincarnators also do that."
A smile formed on her face for the first time. "I might have no magic, but with money, I can still work my way towards a better life. I just need to be careful to not involve myself with any of the main characters and the crazy dangers that follow them."
With this, the young four-year-old Celene has a goal in her mind that was formed. But soon, she would realize that the road she chose to take would still be hard to walk in as a young child, who was still being controlled by adults living in such a world full of danger.
And the perils she would encounter as a child... It would start with the suspicious meet-ups of her aunt with the two men in a black suit that Celene always observed from the window of her room.
