Chapter Eleven DAMON “Cass,” I whispered. “Cass, it’s time to go.” She curled closer into me, mumbling something in her sleep I didn’t catch. I smiled and kissed the top of her head, turning my face upwards to the darkening sky. It was late afternoon now. The days were long here, but the nights were even longer: soon it would be dark, and we needed to return to the workers and the castle before it became impossible to navigate the path. “Cass,” I said again, more firmly this time. Finally, her eyelashes fluttered, and her eyes fixed hazily on mine. “Come on, sleepyhead.” We found our clothes, pulling them on.
