AWR Chapter 35: Half-thoughts

906 Words
"Girl, get over it, will you?" Rebecca chuckled as she opened the door and those were the exact words that greeted her. Sheira walked past her as if she owned the house to herself. She even rolled her eyes. She placed the box of pizza on the glass table between the living room facing the TV. She searched for the remote control as she rested her bum on the sofa. She reclined as she pointed the remote control on the TV as it turned on. "What?" Rebecca followed her as she sat near her as well. "All the dramas and everything. It's getting on my nerves." Sheira said as she opened the box of the pizza. The smell diffused all over the living room. Rebecca looked at her and sat next to her as well. Sheira munched the pizza she bought for the two of them. "You're always bringing me pizza. Do you want me to call you pizza instead of Sheira?" Rebecca chuckled as she also grabbed a slice that's placed on the box. "Gosh, don't change the topic. But nope. I still love my name." She said as she smirked, not entirely focusing on what she's watching on the TV right now. "Okay." Rebecca was almost running out of words. This is the only reply she managed to answer to Sheira. "I know that's what you wanted the most. Would you like me to bring you something that you didn't like?" She added, still looking at the monitor screen. "I am getting used to eating pizza whenever I am with you. Bring me burgers next time, please?" She insisted as she gently pulled her arms to convince her. "That's noted." Sheira replied dryly, getting off her hands on her arms. She's clicking on the remote control trying to switch channels but she's going back to netflix after a few turns. "By the way, what do you want me to get over it?" She's too curious to ask her best friend. "Wow, don't pretend that you didn't know what I am talking about." Sheira looked at her this time, giving her a weird look as if studying her expression. "I'm fine, okay? I am the one telling you this time." "I don't want you to stress everything out." "I don't stress everything, you know that." "I don't think so. Your actions do." Rebecca looked at her friend as if she couldn't believe she would tell that in front of her face. "What?" "I called you yesterday and yet you yelled at me. Is that how you manage your stress?" "Sorry, then." "I understand, Becca. But, you have to chill, alright? Not everything could be settled when you're angry." She looked away. Yeah, Sheira's right. She's not on her true self when she's becoming angry. She could say words that could hurt even the people she loved the most. Even Sheira, the one that's always beside her. "I will try my best to calm down in any situation that may arise." "That's my girl." Sheira smiled at her. She bit her lower lip as she got another slice of pizza. Sheira did the same and they bounced the pizza to each other as if giving themselves a pizza toast. "Thanks, pizza. You made two stomachs better." They both laughed as they enjoyed the remaining slices. "What I want you to know is that, you have to chill and think everything will be alright." "Sheir, I admit, I am not myself when I am not with you. It's hard to keep my sanity if I am alone." "I promise to call you or even stay beside you if that's the case." "Thank you. I always needed that one." "How's the issue with Gavin and Klaire and you?" "There's none." She avoided her gaze. Instead, Rebecca tried to focus on the show she is watching on netflix. She immediately closed her eyes when she realized the show is a bit gory. "What the heck are you watching?" She exclaimed as she covered her eyes. "Don't ask me while I am asking you a timely question, alright? I don't even know the title of that one." "Change it to another show, ok?" "Gosh this show is about to end, okay? I will be watching Kingdoms after this." They were silent for a while when Sheira heard Rebecca sighed. When she turned her head to her, she bit her lower lip. "I guess I just expected too much that's why." "From the start, I feel something about Gavin. I really don't like him." Rebecca looked at Sheira as she continued to munch the pizza she's holding. "You're joking, right?" "What? I am just saying the truth." "Why do you support him when I know that you're rooting for him from the very start?" "That was before, okay? Now that I know his attitude, it's a no for me." "That's final, right?" "Yeah. I will also help you to keep away from that two-timer bastard." "For the record, we're not official and we're not in a relationship yet, okay?" "Yeah, but how dare him awaken love from you when he has a side chick? Gosh, for me it's too much." "We'll just stay away from him. That's final." Rebecca ate the last piece as she focused her eyes on the show that's about to start. Is she ready to move on from the heartbreak that's not even intended from the start.
