AWR Chapter 36 Who's she?

541 Words
I heard somebody moving a lot of things from the kitchen. It's as if somebody is cooking that I couldn't help but to open my eyes. "Good morning, Becca!" Sheira greeted me while holding a baking mitten on her left hand and a spatula on the right hand. It's as if she's mixing something. Excited, I got up from the sofa bed and headed to the kitchen near the living room. "What's for breakfast?" "Well, since I am not into baking and I am not as good as you, I will just cook scrambled eggs and pancakes for breakfast." She answered while she continued mixing the batter she prepared. I could also see a non-stick pan on the stove being heated. I know she's good at this. I am thankful she got up earlier than me to prepare our breakfast because I am also getting hungry. I had fun watching my best friend cook for us. I also prepared some hot drinks for the two of us. Mine's coffee and she would die for a hot cocoa for breakfast. "Thank you! Just the way I liked it!" She happily exclaimed as she sipped on the cup I gave her. I also noticed that she's done with all the pancakes. She put it by layer in one, flat plate. There were six layers of large pancakes in total. She put a spoon of butter on top and poured maple syrup on it. The syrup dripped down and it looked appetizing. She smiled as she took a deep breath. She looked at me as if I am missing to tell her about something very important. She narrowed her gaze as if teasing me with just the way she looked at me. She grinned as she raised both of her eyebrows. I couldn't help but to facepalm. "Now, tell me…" "Tell you what?" I giggled as I avoided my gaze. I sipped my coffee instead. She pulled my arm as she sat closer to me. She sliced the pancakes into two and carefully placed the other half on my plate. "You will not invite me to your house for nothing. I know you." "Sheir, I am just feeling weird to the point of hating myself." "Why do you say that?" "Gavin cornered me last Thursday. It was more of a shotgun date, you know." She laughed upon hearing it right away. "But, you know what? Of all the dates one could ever imagine? That's one-of-a-kind and the most romantic date ever!" "Wow...I've never heard you've been impressed going on a date before." She nodded. I could see that my best friend loved hearing what I am telling her. "I know, right? But what he did was really mind-blowing. I couldn't help but to like what he did, no matter how I try to convince myself." "That's nice! I guess Gavin has no plans of backing out. He's really into you, girl." She said between giggles. I frowned as I poked her arm, she also did the same too. We had fun at breakfast because we had a lot of random things to talk about. All I want is to get distracted from the fact that I am starting to like him, too.
