The other day, I continued going to school. It was Thursday. The weather is very fine. As I entered the school gate, I am much hopeful compared to yesterday. I'd like to thank mom who gave her a piece of nice advice about dealing with people. Different people had varieties of personalities. I have to understand and deal with them even if I have no choice left.
Laila kept on pestering her again but this time, she doesn't care anymore. She went to their school with confidence even if she's surrounded by negativity.
She's on her way to their room when a lot of students laughed as she passed through them. Puzzled, she looked around and she's surprised when somebody made her face front by touching both of his shoulders.
"Tyler…"
"Keep walking." I felt that he got something on my back as he crumpled the paper.
"What's that?"
"Don't ask. Just keep walking." He looked serious when I was about to cry. He stopped in front of our room and I can see a lot of my classmates whispering to each other.
"I'll wait for you in the library." He whispered as he went away after noticing that my classmates started to whisper to each other about what they saw. They were all maliciously looking at me.
"Gosh, so the rumors are true."
"Gosh, all she know is to flirt and display affection with her boyfriend."
"Guys, I guess she'll get married early. She is flirting some junior high boys like she wants to have a family of her own."
I can't believe that young generations of this time is thinking like this. They are the worst when it comes to overthinking. How could they ever think about that for me? Are they nuts? They were only a generation older and yet they think of these things already.
The class ended like a flash. I am happy that my teacher noticed my hard work when it comes to coping up with the lessons. But then, about Tyler, I am thinking twice. I don't want others to spread rumors about the two of us. I can handle rumors for me alone. If it concerns him, that would be a totally different story. I am ready to fight for him whatever it takes.
I made sure that I couldn't see any student following me before I headed my way to the library. I saw Tyler standing in front of the library's entrance. Looking around, as if looking for someone. Oh goodness, he's really expecting me to be here any time.
"Hello Tyler." I timidly smiled as I went near him. He pulled my hand right away as a response. "Not here…" He said, looking around as he made me follow him.
My heart raced fast as he held my hand tight as if never letting go. I am just looking how he gripped my hand and it made my heart race fast already.
We stopped in front of a room.
"W-What is this?"
"Get inside."
"Huh? What's the meaning of this?"
"Please trust me on this." He gently pushed me inside and I stepped in right away. I saw him looking outside before he gently closed the door in front of us.
Instead of becoming nervous, I didn't understand why I suddenly got very excited. He locked the room and switched on the light. The room was painted all white. I can see that everything is very tidy. I can also see a long table with two chairs.
"Taadaa…" He smiled as he proudly presented the room to me.
"What is this?" I said between chuckles.
"I know you're struggling about being in the library with all the rumors and such, so I prepared this room."
"Are you a principal or what?"
"No. It's the art room for Junior students. I am in charge of this room so the council president gave the key to me."
I looked around and I really admire the cleanliness of the room. He moved the seat for me to sit down. He's really a gentleman by nature. He even put all of my books in front of me.
"How was it?"
"I love it. This place is peaceful and nobody could ever lay their judgemental eyes on us." I said, hugging my arms as I hovered my gaze around the room. This is a nice place, honestly speaking. Nobody could ever see what's inside if they attempt to peek from the outside of the room. The tiny windows were placed higher. The four walls were made of pure, concrete material.
"However, I just worry if somebody will know we're both inside of this room. It will create a scandal."
"We're not doing anything…" He said, defensively as he looked down. I tapped his shoulders.
"Yeah, I know. And I trust you so much. I just don't trust the people around us. You never know how far their imagination could go."
"You have a point," He said, quite thinking. "I'm really sorry I dragged you here. I will never do this again."
"It's okay, Tyler. Well, since we're here, let's study. I kinda like this place compared to the library."
He smiled as we continued studying and reading our own books. Although I could see Tyler glancing at me from time to time.
I saw him writing something on a piece of paper. When I attempted to look at it, he covered it right away.
"You're unfair." I said, pouting my lips. He just smiled and continued what he's doing. I sighed as I read my book silently.
"Don't worry," He said, gazing at me. I did the same as our eyes met.
"I will give this to you after twenty minutes."
"Twenty minutes?"
"It will be five in the afternoon by then. You will go home, right?"
"Oh, alright." I admit, it made me feel excited. I couldn't help but smile deep inside. Is he giving me a written letter or something? I hate to assume but then how could I not? He's doing it right now, and it seemed really long. Gosh, if he will give it to me, it will be my first time receiving one.
I can see that he's folding it in thirds as he pushed it to where my books were placed. I smiled as I inserted the letter between my English book.
"I...I want you to read this whenever you're free later, or you're in your room already." I nodded as I smiled. He pinched my nose again.
"Let's go. Let's get out of here before somebody sees us." He said. I placed my books inside my bag and I could see he's doing the same. He held my hand as we slowly opened the door. He made sure nobody had seen us before we went outside the room. He waved goodbye as soon as I got in the car.
I couldn't wait to see what's in the letter.
