Chapter 3

Chapter 3 Opening my eyes, I didn’t know if I would be faced with that evil man who kidnapped me, my wrists hurt, but at least I was lying on something soft. I looked around, and the beeping of the machine told me I was somewhere safe. I wanted to sit up and call for someone, but this didn’t look like a normal hospital room, and how did I get here? Did someone come and stop that man from doing whatever he wanted to do to me? Did they catch him, or am I going to have to worry about him coming around? I am still confused about everything that happened, it was like he thought I was someone else and he wasn't going to admit that he had the wrong person. Maybe that is why I am here, maybe someone found me, or he told someone about me and they saved me. “Ah, you’re awake,” a man said, coming into the room. “How do you feel?” he asked, grabbing the clipboard. “I don’t know.” I sighed. I want to trust him to but I don’t know who to trust. “Where am I?” “Well, you were found in the mountains, and this is the closest hospital here,” he mused. “Don't worry, no one can hurt you,u and you have a lot of recovering to do. Do you remember what happened?” “I do, but I don’t want to talk about it,” I said, looking away. The man almost raped me but got scared off before it happened. He left me with cuts and bruises all over my body. “Did they catch who did this to me?” “I don’t know.” he sighed. “I don’t know much about what happened, our Alpha had to run out and he will be back in a while.” “Alpha, there is that term again.” I sighed. “What do you mean by that?” he asked, putting the clipboard down. “Well, the man that took me, or held me prisoner, said Alpha, and wolves,” I said, holding my head. “I thought he was crazy.” “So you don’t know what that means?” he asked. “Well, I know a wolf is in the forest, but Alpha? Isn't that like a dominant man?” I said, looking at him. I didn’t want to sound crazy, but this is getting out of hand. I need to get back to the city, and I need to leave all of this behind. “Is there a way you can get me a taxi out of here?” “No,” he said, shaking his head. “I don’t think you are well enough to travel, and you’ve been through a lot. We found you unconscious, you might pass out,” he sighed. “I want to go to a real hospital.” I sighed. “Well, we can arrange that, but right now I have to make sure you are not bleeding in your brain, and I have to find out more about what happened so I can give the notes to the new doctor. You don’t want him to miss something because I rushed you out of here?” “No of course not.” I sighed. “I just don’t want to hear the word Alpha or wolves, can you keep them out of the room?” “I will do my best, but I want to know more about what this man said about Alphas and wolves, but we can leave that for another conversation.” “Thanks.” I smiled a little. Even though I didn’t find him threatening, I felt like if he didn’t release me, I was going to be in the same boat. I know that man is going to come and find me again, and this time he is going to do what he didn’t get to finish. “Are you sure that man cannot get to me?” “Of course not, this place is well protected.” he smiled. “Let me go and get you something to eat, and then I am going to draw some blood and get the testing started.” I didn’t say anything, I hope he doesn’t keep me here long, I don’t even know how long I have been missing. I hope my Boss didn’t think I left for good. I am worried that things are going to go south because of everything. I want to know how the man took me I donr even remember anything before the dungeon. “Food will be here soon.” the Doctor said coming into the room. “Now I don’t know if you like needles most don’t but I need your blood.” he smiled. “Oh, okay.” I frowned. I hated needles, but I could do this without issues. I know he is trying to figure out if I have anything wrong with me. “I mean, they don’t bother me much, it's only a little sting, right?” I giggled. “At least you are willing,” he smiled. “So let's get this part out of the way, that way your food will be here and everything else will be done and I won't bother you,” he said, pulling my sleeve up. “Little prick.” I closed my eyes and took a breath as he took my blood. I didn’t know what he was testing for, but I guess he wanted to make sure everything was fine. “All done, you have strong blood.” he smiled. “That's good to know.” he bowed his head slightly. “Food is here, I will be back in a while, just ring and the nurse will get you what you need unless of course you want to talk to me.” I didn’t say anything, part of me wanted to eat and run, but my body hurt a lot. I know it's going to take time for me to heal, but this is a little too much. I don’t know what I did to that man to get him to come and take me and then torture me. I felt kind of mad at him for doing what he did, but I didn’t know him, and he seemed to know me. “Thanks,” I said as the woman set the tray down in front of me. When I smelled the food it got my stomach growling. I know I am going to have to eat slowly, but this is some of the best I have had in a while. I miss having cooked meals, but since I’ve been struggling to get through life since the accident, I don’t know where I belong. A few hours later, the doctor came back into the room. “Sorry, we had an emergency, and I had to do some surgery.” he smiled. “How's your pain level?” “I don’t know.” I sighed. “I had an accident a year or so ago, and well, this pain isn't like that.” I smiled. “So I don’t know if I need anything.” “You had an accident a year ago?” he asked, kind of happy. “I mean, what kind of accident was it?” “Car accident, off of Route 9, I hit some ice and kind of went down the mountain, they were surprised I survived, I have issues now because of it, but I am glad to be alive.” I smiled. I didn’t want to talk about that day. I lost both my parents two days before the accident, and I was being selfish and driving too fast, and well, it went from nice to snow in seconds. “Do you want to talk about it?” “No.” I sighed. “My parents died and my life went to s**t after that accident. I’ve always felt out of place.” He shifted himself a little. Did I say something wrong? Or is he thinking about what I am saying and really caring about what I have to say? Part of me didn’t want to keep talking, but it felt kind of good talking about what happened. I know I cannot change what happened, and I have recovered from the accident, even if things have changed. “Really?” he said, writing something down. “Keep talking, I know it helps to get things out.” “I don’t want to.” I said closing my eyes. “I just want to go back home, and where I know where I am.” I said looking around, this hospital room was kind of big, the machines and everything were placed nicely. “Do you get a lot of people here?” “Mostly pack members and people traveling through kind of like yourself.” he smiled. “Here this will help with your pain.” He didn’t give me time to react; he injected it into my IV, and it kind of forced me to lie back. Did he want to keep me drugged up because he knows I want to get out of here, or is he doing this because he can tell I am in pain? I didn’t want to go to sleep, I tried to keep myself awake, Looking at the door where he was walking, there was a man standing there. I couldn’t see him all that well, he watched me closely. Maybe he knows who I am and he was the one that found me. I wanted to wave to him but I couldn’t even left my arms. I closed my eyes.
