Chapter 6

Opening my eyes, I was hoping I wasn't in the hospital anymore, but I am. I am in pain, but I don’t want any more medicine since I don’t know if this Doctor will let me go knowing I have a lot of pain left. I slowly sat up and moved my feet to the side. I tried to stand up the first time, and it hurt worse than before. I closed my eyes. I knew if I could push through this pain then everything else would be fine and I could go back to my house.

I still don’t know where I am. Looking around I found something to grab onto and forced myself to stand up. I closed my eyes as the pain shot through my body, but at least I was up and now I just have to figure out how to walk around without showing them I am in pain.

“You are determined.” a man said coming into the room. “I am Beta Daniel, you should rest, we’re not going to hurt you.”

“I need to get back to the city, I have a job and stuff,” I said slowly, sitting down. “This is a lot harder to do than it looks.”

“When we found you, you were abused pretty badly.” he frowned. “Just rest, Alpha Darius will ensure you don’t lose your life and keep your job,” he said coming closer. “I know you don’t want to be here because it's not a normal hospital, but you’ll get better care here.”

“I don’t even know where I am or who you guys are.”

“Well you are on wolf pack lands, you are surrounded by warriors that guard our lands and make sure rogues like the one that kidnapped you don’t come here.”

“Speaking of him, did you find him?”

“We’re tracking him yes, we will wait for him to come here to try and get forgiveness for taking you.”

“I want him brought to justice, see this is why I wanted the police to come here. You guys are letting him run around. What if he does it to someone else? You know I stabbed him I thought and killed him when he first tried to kidnap me. I thought it was over but he had help.”

“He had help?” he asked.

“Yes, but I don’t know what happened to that guy, he wasn't there when I woke up and was chained to the wall,” I said closing my eyes, I didn’t want to remember anything about it, but images of what happened flashed in my head.

“Please sit,” he said coming closer and helping me down. “I’ve called the Doctor, you are clearly in pain.”

“I don’t want any more medicine, he won't let me leave here if I am taking medicine,” I said trying to control how I am but it's almost impossible. “This is almost as painful as my car accident.”

“Car accident?”

“Yeah I hit some bad weather at the peak and then something ran out in front of the road, I was flung from the car, and I'm not sure what happened after that, I woke up in the hospital messed up,” I said closing my eyes. “I suffer from weird stuff because of it, but I don’t need to tell you any of that since this has nothing to do with the accident.”

When I noticed the doctor, I was worried that he had seen everything. “Alpha Darius wants to move you closer to him.” Doctor Michael said coming towards me. “Are you okay with that?” he said stopping in front of me.

“I think so, I mean I hope the beds are nicer than these,” I said moving my hand around the bed. “No offense, but I have a bad back from the accident so it helps when I have something nice and soft to lay on.” I smiled.

“None was taken, you aren't the first one to complain about my beds, but yeah they do suck. So I am going to let him know you can be moved. I am sure you want to be around other people, but you are going to need help getting around at least until your leg heals up, six weeks I am guessing.”

“Aw I don’t want to be down for six weeks, I think I got this broken ankle running from the man that took me, I mean I remember going to the bar and then running from someone, and then I woke up chained to the wall.”

“I wish you remember more about what happened, we can kind of plan better if we knew what he was after.” he sighed.

“Well he said he was going to use me against Alpha Darius, but I don’t know how he is going to do that when I don’t know anything about him.” I sighed. “Isnt this a complete mess, I mean he thinks I am someone I am not, and now I have to deal with all of this.”

I noticed Beta Daniel’s eyes were glazing over, I don’t know why maybe he is a witch or something.

“I know but life is hard anyways right, Let's add some color.” he joked. “I know this is a lot worse for you than for me, but I know Alpha Darius isnt going to let anything happen to you, and he will stop anything that does come at you. I promise he is going to make sure you are completely safe whether or not you want to go home.”

I didn’t say anything, I don’t know what he has planned, so far I feel like he is going to keep me here and there isnt much I can do about it, but I hope I am wrong. I hope he lets me leave when the time is right, I don’t think I could escape if I wanted to.

When they brought the wheelchair in I didn’t want to sit in it but I knew I wouldn't be able to walk, when we got outside I felt better. Maybe this place isnt that bad, maybe I should enjoy it before I have to go back to the chaos of the city I live in.

It didn’t take long to get to the house Alpha Darius and a few others were on the porch, I tried to stand up but couldn’t even get up.

“Woah.” Alpha Darius said coming down the stairs. “Dont worry we’re not asking you to walk, but you need to rest,” he said slowly picking me up, I felt something about him but I didn’t know how to explain it, his eyes glazed over like they did with Daniel, part of me is scared about what is happening, maybe I am around a bunch of witches, I wasn't going to question this. I wasn't going to fight on anything because I didn’t know what else they were capable of.

“So this is where you will stay, I will have people watching over you when you need something, and when you are strong enough to walk around then I will show you around the house.” Alpha Darius said putting me down on the bed. “I know this isnt ideal for you but this is all we can do until you are strong enough to go back to the city. Do you have anyone you can call to let them know you are safe?”

“Not anymore, my parents died years ago and I am currently single. I am sure me telling you this is going to make this easier on you to keep me here.”

“No I wouldn't force you to stay here, but if you don’t have a life there, you are welcome to stay here as long as you want.” he smiled. “I have some food coming up, and when you are ready if you want to take a shower I can send a couple of girls to come in and help you.”

“Honestly I would do it myself.”

“But you are in a lot of pain and I would hate for you to fall.”

“I will be fine, but thank you.” I smiled as a woman came in with some food.

“Enjoy your food, if you need something there is someone right outside, they will call for me and I will come and help you with anything you need. The doc will come later to give you some additional medicine to help with your pain,” he said looking at the door the doc was there. “Oh, you didn’t give you meds before I brought her here?”

“No I forgot.” he sighed. “So sorry Anna,” he said bowing his head.
