Chapter 7 Alpha Darius’ POV I didn’t want to leave her alone since I could tell she was in a lot of pain, but I needed to know more about her. I need to know more about the accident she had since it occurred on our land. “So,” Daniel said, coming into the office. “She’s your mate, isn't she?” “She is something,” I said, walking to the window. “Find out about this accident. She seems so familiar now that I got a good look at her.” “She’s the girl we pulled from the car when we were chasing the rogues.” he sighed. “I didn’t think she would end up back in our world, but I think it's fate.” “I don’t know if it's fate, I don’t think she wants to stay. She doesn’t look like she is happy.” I sighed. “If she is my mate, then I cannot let her go back to the city, that rogue king is somewhere there, and I don’t want to take a chance and get her taken from me this time I know he would kill her.” "Well, she is in pain, and we need to keep her comfortable. Just hang out with her. We always know this is overwhelming." He's right. “Are you sure she is the girl we pulled from that car? I don’t remember what she looked like.” I said, shaking my head. As much as I wanted to believe this was fate, how could this be? It was a year after I lost my mate and I was torn up and not myself, I tried to remember the girl's face but I was drawing blanks. “Yeah pretty sure since I was the one that took her to the hospital, if you remember right,” he said, coming closer. “I know you were messed up on everything with Anna, but I could smell Anna on her, so if she is with this Anna I think it's best that you make sure she doesn’t leave or want to leave.” “Yeah well I can't just make her stay, that's like kidnapping, and I don’t think the police will let off that.” “Well then you have your work cut out for you. You better make sure she knows you are her mate otherwise she is going to disappear and we’re going to have to deal with the rogue king again, and this time he might kill her.” “He already killed my mate, I don’t know if this girl is my mate.” “I can tell she is,” he said rolling his eyes. “You are on edge, worried, and scared. You don’t want to lose her but you don’t know how to go about this without sounding or looking like a weirdo.” he chuckled. I don’t know how I'm going to convince her to stay here; she doesn’t know what we are. She doesn’t know that wolves are the reason she is here. I don’t want her to hate me for this, but I know if she leaves and gets herself killed I am going to hurt even more. “What do we know about her?” I said looking at him when the door opened and the doc came in. “Doc everything good?” “Yes, I just wanted to share some information about our human girl.” he mused. “Do you want to hear it?” “Yes of course.” “She’s, well her DNA is changing, I did two samples of blood once when she got here and once a little while ago when I gave her medicine,” he said looking down at the paper. “I don’t know how to explain it, she was human but she’s not anymore.” “What the f**k does that mean?” I snapped annoyed. I don’t like it when he doesn’t explain things fast enough. “It means she is part wolf.” Daniel mused. “So she is your mate, if she was a human when we brought her here, then that means the Moon Goddess gave her Anna’s wolf to bring you a second chance mate.” I don’t know what to say, part of me wants to be happy about it, but then I am reminded I didn’t even know about her but the rogue king claims he knew about her. “How did the rogue king know about her but I didn’t?” I asked. “He said he watched her before taking her.” “I don’t know, but I know she is going to shift soon and if she does it in the city, it will draw attention to you and her. They will kill her because they don’t believe we are real.” Doc sighed. “I know you don’t want to force her to stay here but it might be the best thing for her.” “What does this all mean? A familiar voice spoke, when Doctor moved out of the way Anna was standing there. “What’s going on?” she said looking at us. “This is complicated, your blood and DNA are changing and we don’t know why. I don’t think it's wise for you to leave here not knowing what happens.” “So is this your way of forcing me to stay here?” she asked. “I wouldn't force you to stay here unless it's something as serious as this.” I sighed. “I don’t want to force you to do anything, but if you shift and someone sees it, they are going to hunt you down and kill you because the humans are afraid of our kind.” “Our kind?” she asked confused. “Please come inside and sit down, you are still healing and I can see in pain,” I said as the doctor moved out of the way. “Please.” “Fine but I still don’t understand what you are saying,” she said slowly coming inside. “I am going to go and get more medicine,” Doc said leaving without waiting for permission. “So,” she said looking at me. “If you claim you are not human then what are you?” “I am a werewolf,” I said calmly. “I know the first thought in your head is yeah right, but we are shifters here. There are shifters all over the world, there are about a hundred packs here where we are.” “If I asked for proof?” “You will get it,” I said looking at Daniel. “But as you heard I don’t think it's safe for you to leave here, not until you figure out how to control your shift.” “So you claim I am going to be one of you?” she asked looking at both Daniel and I. “How is this possible?” “I know a lot of this is hard to explain since you don’t know anything about us.” I sighed. “But I know once you understand that it's safer here for you until you are used to the idea of being a wolf.” “I don’t want to be a wolf, I still don’t understand-” she said as her eyes rolled back, Daniel was close enough to catch her before she fell. “Well,” he said handing her to me. “I don’t think that went as well as I thought it would. I don’t know what to do.” “I don’t either, I didn’t know she was listening in on us.” I sighed walking to her room and gently placing her in the bed. “But when she wakes up I better have a good f*****g idea how I am going to explain all of this to her without sounding like it's all fiction.” “Well coming from the human world she isnt going to believe this until you show her,” he said looking at her. “If she is your mate she is going to understand this is going to be fine. She isnt stupid, so give her time to adjust to it. She will shift and it's going to scare the hell out of her, but I think she will do good at the end of it.” he half smiled. Maybe he is right, maybe I should leave it to her to decide what she feels, and if she doesn’t want to be here then I guess it's something I am going to have to deal with. I just hope the mate bond makes it where she doesn’t want to leave. I don’t want to lose her again.
