Mira’s scream echoed through the room and her body slumped on the ground trembling as she cried in pain. I didn’t even bother to spare her another glance. She was the one who had betrayed me first.
Her swollen neck with my grip, was a silent testament to her defiance. Yet, I felt nothing to do for her.
Yes, she deserved this pain. I wasn’t ready to apologize to an Omega who had dared to repeatedly challenge my authority.
The elders had warned me about her. They said I had been too indulgent in her beauty, too soft towards her and now I saw they were right. Mira had mistaken my tolerance for weakness, even showed the audacity to be ungrateful.
“You brought this on yourself,” I hissed. “If you had known your place, none of this would have happened.”
