Chapter Seven
“Wake up, sleepyhead.” Kelly rubbed Hunter’s back, trying to gently wake him up. It was the first day of school today. She had been more nervous than him last night. When he rolled over and started to get up, she left him in the room to get ready.
“Good morning.” Mason greeted her in the kitchen with a cup of coffee ready for her. He had been staying with them since Saturday night after they picked Hunter up. Hunter had thought it was excellent, and she felt better with him there, even if he was just on the couch.
“Good morning.” She took a sip of her coffee and sighed. “I don’t know how I’ll ever get used to not having coffee ready for me each morning when you go back to your house.”
“You’ll never have to know if you don’t want to.”
