After making sure all those filthy rouges were taken care of and all pack members were safe, I headed to the cell where we took those, we took captive. I took my time getting there since Hawk was still going crazy in my head. The sweet smell of honeysuckle was engraved in our mind. Once we laid eyes on Kenz, it was game over and Hawk wanted blood. It took everything in me to keep him at bay so as not to attack. I always felt a special pull towards her, but I thought it was just a crush at the time. Growing up, we were always together, since Mason kept a close eye on her and we were always together. He and I were born on the same day and our parents were best friends, despite their rank. My mind kept going back to her beautiful blue eyes that looked deep into my soul. I could tell she was not the same girl I left two years ago and I couldn’t wait to get to know the new Kenz. I was brought from my thoughts when Erik caught up to me.
“Mason is on his way. Mack is with Uncle Vin and Aunt Mel.” He stopped next to me as he tried to catch his breath.
“Good.” I nodded, stopping so he could have a breather. “Do we know anything?” I asked as I cracked my neck. I wanted to know who would be so brazen as to attack our pack. We were the largest pack on the west coast with over 5,500 pack members, half of them being warriors. Everyone knew that attacking us would be a death wish. The next closest pack to us was Crystal River with 4,500 members, then Red River with just over 4,000 members. I highly doubted it would be any of those though.
“As soon as we question that asshole we caught, we should have answers.”
“Once Mason gets here, we’ll head down and find out.”
We stood there for what felt like hours when it was only about 10 minutes when Mason came jogging over to us.
“How is she?” I asked immediately.
“Shaken but doing good.” I could hear and sense the tension coming from him.
“We’ll find out who did this, don’t worry.” I placed a hand on his shoulder. I wanted to catch whoever did this as much as he did, especially Hawk.
With one last roil of my neck, we headed down the stairs to the cells. The putrid smell of urine and feces hit my know, but also the smell of fear. I took in the smell of the fear as I neared the end of the hall where our warriors had placed the rouge. I stopped at the door and took in his appearance. The better look I got at him, the more I could notice he wasn’t a rouge from his appearance and well-toned muscles. That could only mean he was from a pack.
“Is he alive?” I looked over to one of the warriors, Bryson.
“He is Alpha.” He nodded as I grabbed a bucket of ice-cold water and walked into the cell. Yeah, never said I was nice to those who f****d with us. I stood a few feet away before throwing the water over his head.
“Wakey, wakey, f**k face.” I watched as that piece of s**t took a deep breath before struggling against the chains that were holding him from the ceiling. He slowly lifted his head towards me then spit out the water and blood from his mouth.
“Did you just spit on our Alpha?” Mason growled as he reached forward, grabbing his neck. I stepped back to let Mason take control for a moment.
“If I did?” That was all it took for Mason to punch the guy in the gut. You could hear the wind getting sucked from his body at the force.
“Now, Mason.” Erik stopped him. “Save a little bit for everyone else too.” By this time, Mason was heaving from the force he was packing with those punches. From the looks of it, he must have went really hard in training after I had left.
“Who sent you?!” Mason yelled, releasing his neck and taking a step back.
“You’ll never find out.” The s**t stain stated before laughing menacingly.
“You son of a b***h!” Erik threw a punch this time. “What were you after?!”
“The girl. He wants the girl.” He wheezed out after Erik broke a few more ribs.
“Who?” I stepped forward, releasing my aura.
“That won’t work silly pup.”
“No?” I took his chin in my hand and brought his face to mine. “Pump him full of wolfsbane and leave him here for a few days. No food or water. Maybe then he’ll talk.” I instructed, never taking my eyes off his.
I felt him start to tremble under my touch, since wolfsbane could be deadly to wolves. It makes our wolves weak, so we won’t heal as fast. I stepped back as another warrior stepped forward with a syringe. The second it hit his system, he howled in pain. I looked at him with a satisfied smirk before walking out of the room. Hopefully, a few days down in the hot and stuffy dungeon will get him talking.

It’s been a week since the attack on the pack. So far, nothing has happened. Ever since that happened, I was not allowed to leave the pack and when I did, I had a dozen warriors following me. Since I was always with Elena, we had an entourage with us since she also had the same number of warriors, thanks to her father and mine. All that aside, tonight was the night of my 18th birthday as well as Elena's. We were both born the same day, just a few hours apart. We were both getting ready in my room, like always.
I was in my closet deciding on what dress to wear. Looking at all the options, I picked one that was perfect. It was an Empress Sequin Dress in Deep Pink with a square neckline. It was short, and by short, I mean I would not be able to bend over. I paired it with a pair of Christian Louboutin white Iriza cutout heels. I picked out the jewelry daddy got me for my 16th birthday before I headed out. I walked out just as Elena was slipping on her Christian Louboutin black Kate heels. She wore a burgundy chiffon dress with a V-neckline that was flowy at the bottom, resting mid-thigh.
“Damn girl!” We both said at the same time. We laughed at each other as we took in each other’s appearance.
“You look fire girl!” Elena said as she walked around me. “I don’t think Uncle Vin or Mason will allow you to leave this room in that.”
“Mason can kiss my ass.” I laughed at his reaction. It was always the same. If it were up to him, I would be in a baggy sweatshirt and sweats all the time. “And Erik and Uncle Kev?” I raised my brow at her.
“Mine is not as revealing as yours!” She retorted.
“The top is though.” I pointed with my chin toward her chest.
She crossed her arms and scoffed before heading over to her makeup on my vanity. We spent the next hour doing our hair and makeup. Each taking turns helping the other. When we were finished, we left my room and headed toward the stairs.
“What the hell, Rose?” I grimaced at her pacing in my head.
“Mate is here.” She panted, sounding desperate.
Being that it was my 18th birthday as well as Elena’s, a few neighboring pack Alpha and Beta’s, were invited to see if we were their mates. Some also bought their Gamma’s with them as well, in hopes of having one of us mated to them. We made our way through the house and out the back door. As soon as we stepped outside, I heard it.
“Mate!” Elena whispered as we both scanned the area. I looked up to see Mason walking toward us. Ready for his lecture, I braced myself only to watch him stop in front of Elena.
“Mate.” His voice was husky. They stared at each other before Elena jumped into his arms, attaching her lips to his.
“Uh…ummm?” I stood there speechless.
“What is going on?” I heard Erik approaching. “Oh, hell no!” He exclaimed once his eyes landed on Mason and Elena.
“Leave them. They are mates.” I smiled as I watched them. I was hoping things would go that well for me when I found my mate. I watched as Erik walked away grumbling under his breath, and I presumed he was going to find Uncle Kev.
I left the two of them alone since they still had not come up for air. I walked through the crowd, looking for my mother and father. As I was walking, Rose started to go crazy. It wasn’t until I laid eyes on him that I knew why she was going wild in my head.
“Mate.” I whispered as I saw a huge grin appear on his face.
“I told you; you were my Luna.” Beck walked over, placing a hand on my waist. Before I could react, he crashed his lips against mine. I was in shock and Rose was freaking out at the contact. His hands moved from my waist to my ass and just as he was about to squeeze, a growl stopped him.
“Get your hands off my mate!” I heard Hawk snarl from behind Beck.
Beck pulled away with a grunt and turned to Nico. “You’re mate? She claimed me.”
“No, I didn’t.” I pushed him away and moved from behind. The moment my eyes met Nico’s, Rose howled out, “Mate!”
