"Shut up, Gerald," Mathew snapped at his friend.
"I know I’m still a bit drunk, but this contract is like something a teenager would write. So when will your sibling arrive? Oh, do I have to call her my sister-in-law already?" he said, joking.
"Tomorrow, 11:30 in the morning... she’s coming from the US," Christian replied quickly.
After the contract was signed, the siblings had to leave. But Gerald was confused by what his friend had done — he couldn’t believe Mathew had planned a wedding, considering he’d told him less than an hour earlier that he wouldn’t get married.
"Are you really serious about this marriage? Marry her? You? We don’t even know her name..." Gerald said, unable to believe his friend.
"Since they want me to get married, I’ll get married. But I can’t promise how I’ll treat her or what I’ll do," Mathew said, with a hint of threat in his voice.
"Unlucky girl, but remember she’s still a woman... go easy on her, please," he reminded his friend.
"I don’t care if it’s a girl or a guy — I’ll do what I want," Mathew replied with a grin.
"And what if you fall in love with her?" Gerald asked seriously, speaking to a friend who only seemed to care about s*x and fun.
Mathew burst out laughing at his friend’s question, as if it were just a joke.
"Something impossible for me, Gerald. Since she left me... I haven’t fallen in love with anyone else," he said confidently.
"Don’t say that, Mathew. We don’t know what could happen now, tomorrow, or the next day. You might wake up tomorrow and realize you love her," Gerald said.
"I don’t believe in that kind of thing, Gerald. I’m not like you," Mathew said.
While the two were talking, a woman approached them and suddenly kissed Mathew. Gerald was shocked, but Mathew wasn’t — scenes like this were normal for him anywhere he went.
"Let’s go somewhere else, babe," the girl said, biting her lip.
Mathew stood up and pulled the girl by her waist.
"Why not, my lady," he said, winking.
"Good night, my friend — have a wonderful night," Mathew said to Gerald.
"Hm, have a steamy night, Math. Be careful not to have a love child," Gerald reminded his friend.
The next morning, in hotel room 223, a familiar scene played out in Mathew’s life: waking up with a woman by his side. Only a few hours had passed when someone banged loudly on the door. Mathew got up to open it, and when he did, he saw Gerald — fully dressed, standing with his hands on his hips.
"Mathew, you need to get ready or we’ll be late. Remember? Today we’re picking up my future sister-in-law," Gerald reminded him.
"Good morning, Gerald — come in..." was all Mathew said.
Gerald walked right into the room even though he knew Mathew wasn’t alone. Instead, he even teased the woman inside.
"Good morning, Mathew," the woman said cheerfully.
"Good morning... ahm... you can leave now," Mathew said directly to the woman.
"Don’t mind him. By the way, lady... did you enjoy your night?" Gerald asked the naked woman in front of him.
"Yes, I did... he’s amazing," the woman said shyly.
"I bet that’s true — otherwise, women wouldn’t be so drawn to him if it were just about his personality," Gerald smiled devilishly as he spoke about his friend.
"You know, lady... if your passionate night leads to something, here’s his address..." Gerald said, handing the girl a small piece of paper with Mathew’s address written on it.
Mathew heard what Gerald said to the woman and threw a pillow at him. The girl started getting dressed.
"I’m not like you, Gerald — having s*x without a condom. I always make sure to use protection," he said to Gerald.
"You can stay here if you want — don’t worry, I already paid for the room for a day," Mathew said to the woman.
"Bye, Mathew — see you next time," the woman said.
"Remember what I said, lady," Gerald reminded her.
"Sorry, darling — there’s no next time," Mathew said with a smile, before leaving to head to the airport.
